I'm kind of glad the current recruits won't be on the team. I'd love for them to get some extra Cal time as well as build chemistry with one another but this is strictly a recruiting tool. Every current cat that's not on the roster frees up a spot for a potential future cat. Good trade off. I'd love to see some of Langford, Bagley, Williamson, Bol, Reddish, etc.
Diallo and PJ Washington are on the team.No current Cats will be on the team, but a lot of future recruits could be.
I just picture Cal with a huge grin getting this shot and having access to the top players in this type of setting.
Oh wow, I could've sworn I read no cats on the team. My mistake. Thanks for the info.Diallo and PJ Washington are on the team.
If they are trying out they have already discussed it with Coach Cal.Doesn't mean they are on the team. Just means they will be trying out. If Cal suggests they don't go, they won't.
Agree. But Cal could just want them there to get in the ear of some of the 2018 guys.If they are trying out they have already discussed it with Coach Cal.
And I missed one too. Kevin Knox also on team.Oh wow, I could've sworn I read no cats on the team. My mistake. Thanks for the info.
No Zion Williamson or Marvin Bagley on the invite list
Reddish
Bol Bol
Quickly
Langford
Only 2018 guys invited
Diallo,P.J and Knox from
UK
I'm not sure how Cal cuts any of those guys if he wants to land them. Lou King is a UK target but he seems like a long shot for the final roster, too.Bol Bol, Quickly, Langford, Reddish have a good shot to make the team. All 4 are huge targets
Might mean Bagley is looking to graduate high school this summer and wants to stay home and focus on that.
I hope Bolden does not make team. That means he will get better because he will be playing under Cal. We never want a Duke player to succeed.
Why no Zion or Bagley?
Bagley was on the initial list that was "a mistake" and Williamson is playing over in Italy right now on Adidas trip with Quickley. Likely declined the invite as I'm sure they were asked to tryout.
He already said on three different occasions that he isn't trying to do that

The other awesome thing about Knox is he was playing football until his junior year. Only been full time basketball for 2 years. Awesome potential! If he would have gone to Duke I guarantee people would be hyping him like Brandon Ingram.Wondered if Diallo would qualify from an age perspective, since he was draft eligible this season. His choice to return to UK looks like a better decision all the time.
Knox still 17 or barely 18 I think, this will be good experience for him.He may have some growing yet to do
Hopefully many positives for UK come out of Cal coaching this team.

Let's take the NBA route here, and let him play a game before anointing him.It will be a great chance for Cal to work on Langford. Getting him will be key as Diallo is sure to leave next year.
I read that also, wonder what skills take the biggest leap forward in the next year? I would think ball handling, passing court awareness and maybe shooting(from a technique standpoint)The other awesome thing about Knox is he was playing football until his junior year. Age+ the relative short time Knox has been playing organized basketball would seem to bode well for him improving at a fairly rapid rate. His dad was a high level college athlete,so his insights and guidance in areas such as the value of a good work ethic and understanding of the business of d1 athletics will help Knox Jr also.To give you some perspective on age--Kevin Knox is going to be the/one of the youngest players in D1 next year as he's 17 now. Bol Bol is also 17 as he goes to the Team USA 19U tryout.
Now contrast that to Jalen Suggs who is a class of '20 and will be 16 by end of this Summer and is a Freshman in HS. Suggs is hearing from Kentucky, Duke, etc.....now but that's just to show how evaluations can be influenced. Suggs isn't doing anything wrong, just saying when you compare prospects, a guy who is going to be playing FR year of CBB is going to be one year older then a guy going into his Soph year of HS. Devin Booker is 20 in the NBA and heading into 3rd year. lol
Age doesn't always factor in things but it is interesting to look into and how prospects are perceived and their ability to improve within a year is high--specifically for a one and done program like UK.
