Did Louisville offer ? I love to beat them out for in state kids
UofL was interested in him last year and he apparently made several visits to UofL in 2022. Nothing really materialized and the Cards signed a 4* TE prospect back in April. FWIW I get the feeling each school got the kind of TE prospect they desired.

Peace

Louisville came into Michigan and got a nice victory on the recruiting trail Friday when Saline High tight end Dylan Mesman committed to the Cardinals.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Mesman is a four-star prospect per the 247Sports Composite and 247Sports has him as a top 20 tight end in the class and top ten junior in Michigan.

He has 21 offers in total including Auburn, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Boston College, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Duke, Minnesota, Miami-FL and more.

‌"I’m definitely excited," he told 247Sports.

Jeff Brohm and his staff were a big reason the Cardinals got the nod over those other schools. Their history of utilizing the position at Western Kentucky then Purdue did not hurt either.

"I believe they were the right choice because of the coaching staff," Mesman said. "Everyone I met and talked with there are all amazing people and just overall care about me. Coach Brohm is always known for using his tight ends, and it’s obvious in the statistics. The fan base they have is incredible too and so many people have shown their support. Overall, I'm really excited to finally commit."

He visited Louisville unofficially earlier this month and had a good chance to spend time with tight ends coach Ryan Wallace and see a practice.

"It was overall amazing," Mesman told Cardinal Authority's Jody Demling. "I was able to see the whole tight end group in action and just really hang out with Coach Wallace. Coach Wallace knows so much about the tight ends and has developed some really good ones such as Payne Durham so it’s intriguing to see what I can do there."

Mesman is the seventh commitment for Louisville in the 2024 class. He is the first from the state of Michigan and first tight end in the group.

He also continues a strong April on the trail for Brohm and company. The month started with a commitment from quarterback Deuce Adams and then just in the last week, offensive linemen Ransom McDermott and Jimmy Williams, in-state wide receiver Shaun Boykins Jr., and now Mesman have jumped on board.

As a junior, Mesman caught 29 passes for 245 yards and six touchdowns. He was Honorable Mention All-Conference and second team Ann Arbor Dream Team. He has been recruited and playing up with the varsity since his freshman year.

With Notre Dame commit CJ Carr at quarterback, Mesman helped his team to an 8-3 record last season and a 2nd Round playoff appearance. The year before that, the Hornets went 9-1.

This could be an interesting recruiting story. UK just picked up a 5 start K/P. Do they concede the hometown recruit or battle for him?

Historically, UofL football loses this recruiting battle. Nice to be on this side of the decision.

Go to your own board if you have one, maybe you'll find somebody who gives a shit.

Fans from other teams are welcome here - even Louisville (ugh) - as long as they are not causing trouble.

You can always put him on ignore if you don't like the posts.

Thanks.
I've usually enjoyed WildCard's contributions. They've often added value to this board.

When provoked, he might take a subtle shot now and then, but, on the whole, his posts have been informative and respectful.

More contributors who are not trouble makers should be a good thing.

Personally enjoy them or any other fanbase coming over.

Same doesn't hold true on their site.
