Boston loves Kentucky guys. Since the Pitino era alone, all of these guys logged minutes for the Celtics...Originally posted by W2R:
Memphis radio today was talking that memphis office has been shopping him for a while
I think this might be the last season for Prince and Mohammed. Tayshaun is still contributing as a role player, but you've got to wonder if it's worth coming back next year for him to make 1/7th what he's making right now.Originally posted by BLEEDBLUE444:
Sad for Tayshaun but Memphis had to upgrade their wing position to get really serious in the West, Pondexter and an Older Prince weren't cutting it... I wouldent be surprised to see him retire soon
I,agree ...they are a blue collar team. They take pride in it. I really thought bledsoe or patterson was coming here their rookie years. Then they worked out meeks multiple times after he left the lakers but decided to,go,elsewhereOriginally posted by BLEEDBLUE444:
Interesting tidbit, thanks for the share, not really surprising, I figure not winning would hurt you're bottom line more than having a UK guy but I guess not... However it Obviously has not hurt memphis any as they have been a fixture in the Wild West and a perennial playoff team, they are seemingly a very solidly run organization
That would be ideal. James Young said he grew up watching Tayshaun Prince when he was with the Pistons, and said Prince was his favorite Wildcat.Originally posted by BLEEDBLUE444:
I don't see Prince being very happy in Boston, although maybe be just takes on the mentor role and thrives in it... I wish he would take James Young under his wing and teach that guy everything he knows about Defense
Most likely won't be there long enough to serve much of a mentor role. Reason the Celts wanted him is only because his contract expires in a few months, when they'll probably be parting ways with him. All about creating future cap space.Originally posted by BLEEDBLUE444:

I get what you're saying, but.....the article said his current deal is $7.7 million (annually I presume). A seventh of that is a little over a million. Surely someone could be bothered to play a game for a few month in exchange for a million dollars! HehOriginally posted by Son_Of_Saul:

I'm afraid you are right about Prince. Seems like we've seen him fading for the past few seasons and that's kind of sad as I've always had a soft spot for Prince. He played so well at UK and made all of us proud of him, also seems like such a stand up guy too. But, players come and go and they, like all of us, age - some just quicker than others. Still, a great career for him and he does have that ring. Hopefully, he'll hang on a few more seasons as a role player and still collect a nice check.Originally posted by Kramer318:
Prince is in the twilight of his career... I'm just glad he's still on an NBA roster. But his prime is way past him. He's got a ring, so he'll always be a champion.
That could be one of the reasons why Celtics do want Prince. I can hope so anyway. I think it would be greatly beneficial.Originally posted by Son_Of_Saul:
