6'3 combo guard from Dunbar here in Lexington. Averaged 20 ppg his sophomore year and made some noise against national powers at Marshall County hoopfest. Only a junior this season. Anyone know more about him? Is he UK material or is that yet TBD? Played against stiff competition and held up nicely. Maybe UK keeps an eye on him

I'm sure we'll keep tabs on him the way we did with Hawkins and have with guys like Goodin, but it will come down to what career the kid wants. Does he want major minutes or to be a role player?

Because, with no disrespect to the kid at all, he's not going to be a priority over 2017 guys we're already after at the PG spot. Recruiting is just on another level here, and if you don't appear to be a lottery bound kid, you just aren't the first option for UK.

Recent story said he is a lifetime UK fan. I imagine he could get a scholarship from UK if he keeps improving and knows he's going to start on the bench and will have to prove himself.

He is lucky in the sense that we project to have 7 open scholarships and possible 8 depending upon Humphries progress that recruiting cycle. Fox, Monk, Gabriel, Bam, Mulder, Willis, and Hawkins will all likely be gone. We will have the room for him.

Added three more offers last night: Winthrop, Morehead St., and East Tennessee St. (to go along with EKU from last weekend).

If I recall correctly, Sir Taveion Hollinsworth was the thirteenth Duke of Wellington, preceding Sir Thaddeus Snodgrass and Sir Farrington Huguenin.

In his first game since drawing national attention at the Marshall County Hoop Fest over the weekend, Taveion Hollingsworth scored 40 points in Paul Laurence Dunbar’s 70-54 victory over Lafayette on Tuesday night.

Hollingsworth — a 6-foot-3 junior guard — was 15-for-20 from the floor, 3-for-5 from three-point range and made all seven of his free-throw attempts. He also had six rebounds and five assists, meaning he had a hand in 20 of Dunbar’s 26 made field goals.

After the game, Hollingsworth picked up scholarship offers from East Tennessee State and Winthrop.

Hollingsworth scored 33 points in Saturday’s victory over Madison Academy (Ala.). He scored 35 points in a victory over Bryan Station two days before that.

Eastern Kentucky extended a scholarship offer to Hollingsworth shortly after his Hoop Fest performance, the first offer of his college recruitment. National analysts from Rivals.com, Scout.com, ESPN and 247Sports all mentioned Hollingsworth in their write-ups from the Hoop Fest.

In my opinion he is way better than Hawkins at this point in his career. If he has a great summer he will get plenty of attention from major D1 programs. If he is content on being a four year contributor and continues to improve, he will probably get the UK offer he desires.

I agree, dropping 30 a night against good competition, he is going bigger than MSU or Eastern or Winthrop

Folks are always clamoring and crying around about having homegrown boys on the squad but you look at EKU,Murray, etc and they hardly have any either. There is a very good reason why too
