I now this is the BB board which is why I am posting it here with all the rivalry between us and UL.

The 5 minute or so promo leading into the MSU and Michigan football game was insane!

Those programs hate each other! ... they've had several on-field skirmishes and media bulletin-board material by players and coaches.

Two teams in the top ten battling it out for a chance in the playoff. Just imagine the hatred between UK and UL and intensify it with a stadium of 100,000 people and the players in pads wanting to take each other's head off.

michigan state has no title i'm aware of. they are a classic rivalry and it's usually a closer game, but a msu fan really can't say anything to a michigan fan. like nothing. not saying they don't hate each other cuz i lived in big ten country back when and it was definitely palpable.

I personally know quite a few who cheer for both teams to do well. Quite a few root for UM in football and MSU in bball.

Trust me when I say they hate each other. They never root for each other like Oregon and Washington fans do for Oregon State and Wazzu. Washington fans throw dog biscuits at Oregon fans and Oregon fans throw beer and spit at Washington fans. I guess the 'little brother label that UM gives MSU made me think of UK and UL. I'll take your all's word on the fans' rivalries between the B1G and PAC college teams since I don't live in any of those areas.

But, for someone who loves smash-mouth football, you could tell the players had some legit beef between the two schools, and both played hard and physical.

Especially the way the game ended with the miffed punt. I've never seen 110,000 fans get silenced and shocked like that before... And it's all for a Paul Buyon statue?

Sorry, not trying to be a jerk and call you out but there's no way that While you were on this thread trying to convince everyone that that's the biggest rivalry, and someone just happens to be burning a flag of the rival school. The chances of that would be astronomical! I doubt anyone has ever seen any college flag being burned in their entire lifetime, so I just can't believe that not only is someone burning a flag period, but they happen to be doing it right across the street, the exact moment that you're posting that post, lol! I'm sure there's some hatred, but most people just aren't as fanatical out west like that. Again, sorry, really not trying to be a jerk, I just couldn't help but laugh when I read that.

I have been fortunate and traveled a good bit in my life. Been to Washington and Oregon. That is not even close to Bama/Auburn or Texas/Texas Am or UF/FSU or UK/UL....those are juat a few off the top of my head. The southern rivalries from what Ive seen, are the most brutal. Grew up in PA, PSU/Pitt was ruthless b4 they stopped playing. Thats still a shame, some good hatred between those schools

When it comes to national titles it's no comparison, but I think the two are only separated by like five or six wins all-time. Same with UNC and Duke in basketball. Disagree 100% with this. People in the PNW do not live and die by their sports teams and no way the Oregon-Washington rivalry compares to others in the country.
