TJ, I know that if you have a kid that transfers in mid-semester one year, they are eligible the first game after the last final of the Fall semester the next year. Would it be the same however for a kid like Wynyard who is just entering school for the first time or would he have to wait until the Spring Semester starts in January?
If it's the former, it could make a great difference. Becoming eligible in December and being able to go through "Camp Cal" could go a long way toward getting him ready to contribute some during the Conference schedule (even if it's only 5-10 mpg in case of injury or foul trouble). If he can't start working with the team until January, it would probably make contributing much more difficult.
I've been very impressed with what I've seen of Tai on video recently and now think he could possibly give the team a big boost with only a handful of minutes a game. TIA
