Great! To have another Cat coming on board. Not sure what his role will be but I leave that to Cal. I am thankful! [smoke]

I read the other article that he is 6'10" and 263 pounds. I had no idea that this kid was that big.

If he can't get a double double in 4 of his five games he won't be welcome here. Being 17 is no excuse. Not playing college ball before is no excuse. Playing with 3 other freshmen and no returning starters is no excuse. Get ready young man.

Relax...[laughing]....................................................May be at least 6 or 7 games...

I assume he is elgible as soon as he gets here..but that is a complete guess

I asked TJ to ask someone from the basketball office, since nobody seems to really know. He said that he thought that as soon as the 1st semester was over, which is Dec 18, he can enroll for winter semester which begins the 21st. He would be eligible then. If not, it would be in January, when spring semester starts. He believed that to be the case, but was going to get a definitive answer from the basketball office. From Tai's tweet, that seems to be the case.

Wasn't a McDonald's All-American, so he can stay in New Zealand!

I wanna see him do his Kiwi War Dance prior to the UL game. They won't know what hit em.

Schmidt...they'd be right at home...do that move nearly everyday....though...not for the same reason(s)...

Curious as to how this works out this year. Mostly be a big body
just using bb IQ and experience.......after all, he's 4 mos behind.

If he's willing to burn half a season of eligibility, and Cal thinks he's ready, I'd be thrilled to get 5 more fouls and another big for rebounding and put-backs.

Have to play ahead of Hump to do that.........no way we can afford to play both at the same time.....5 more fouls to give???????? Hump will never use his 5....For Wynyard to give 5 fouls, he would have to play ahead of Hump.
(Might happen)

So, you're saying he has to hump, Hump.?

I think he just meant that we now have another big body in times we get into foul trouble (like we were against UCLA).

I think that he will start slow, since he is behind, but by tournament time, he may be a real asset.

The biggest addition he'll bring is a physicality to practice, that we've probably been lacking down low.

That alone will be a huge help. If he can bang on Skal and Lee in practice, hopefully they'll be more accustomed during games.

That might loosen them up!!!! Yes, I went there.

Maybe Humphries vs Wynyard in a no disqualification match with Skal as special referee so he can get the idea of being physical up close.

Wynyard is gonna be a lot better than some think. I think he'll be better than Humphries honestly. By the end of the year he may be getting all Humphries minutes. But he's gonna give us that physical presence that we desperately need. And yeah. Maybe he'll learn Skal how to be a man with them going at it in practice. I could see Tai giving us something like 4pts, 4rbs if he takes Humphries mins.

Why would you think that he's that advanced? Humphries has pretty good skills for 17. I'd suggest a bit more data before drawing any conclusions.

I will be very surprised if Wynyard is more advanced than Humphries,,maybe a shade quicker
