Amari Williams is the highest-ranked Kentucky player among the Top 350 in Assist/Turnover Ratio.
He is rated 324th at 1.29 and is the only Kentucky player in the Top 350 in this category.
However, Kentucky is ranked 18th at 1.57 in the Top 355 !!
This suggests to me that our ratio is very good overall as a TEAM ... which is impressive !!

How can the team ratio be better the the best individual assist/turnover ratio?

Assist/TO ratio to me isn't the best statistic.
IMO, a better statistic is Steal/TO ratio, how often do you take the ball away vs give it away.

But I've kept season stats for UK the past 25 years on spreadsheets.
Earlier in the year, we had 5 guys whose Ast/TO ratio range from 3.2-5. They were the highest 4 over those past 25 years, and 5 of the highest 8, and Williams wasn't one of those at the time.
I just noticed though that Williams is NOT currently the highest (or close to it) UK player this season.

2.77 Brea
2.14 Almonor (but both are small totals)
2.11 Butler
2.08 Carr
1.86 Robinson
1.61 Garrison
1.27 Williams
1.23 Oweh
3.78 Kriisa (but season ended early with most of his games vs cupcakes)

Because Carr has a pretty good Ast to turnover ratio for a big, maybe we should have seen more of him as the point big at the top of the key. Williams makes 3 good passes for every 2 bad passes.

True. But the benefit of putting Williams in that spot is that Carr is one of the guys who can spot up for a open 3. Williams can't do that. Meaning Williams has 4 shooters he can pass to, but Carr would only have 3 shooters (& 1 post guy). I'm not saying it's wrong to do that, just different.

Yes, but Butler has more assists than Williams (99 to 94 total, & 4.5 vs 3.1 per game) and a better ratio (2.11 to 1.27).
