Whatever happened in Richmond bar, is not very good publicity for UK. We all should agree with that. Our potential QB of the future, is not off to a very good start at UK. Boys will be Boys, but appears he has some major problems of being a good leader. I just hope the truth really comes out.

Boys will be boys is a crap excuse, IMO. I've managed to live 40+ years as a male w/o experiencing such problems. 82 other scholarship players managed to not get into a bar fight Sat night and not get picked up for discharging air guns on campus last fall. Maturity is a must at age 18, especially when receiving compensation in the form of a scholarship in exchange for playing a sport. We are not UL and therefore shouldn't be making excuses for poor behavior like they do. These boys, if these allegations are true, now have a history here and none of it has to do with on-field performance. Time to punt, again, if true.

Getting lectured on maturity from someone who calls himself FusterCluck is a bit much. I'm going to guess you never played any organized football.

If Pop Warner counts, you'd be wrong.

A bit much is getting the business from someone based on nothing more than a silly screen name.

How bout we hear the truth first before judging? Just cause someone is in a fight doesn't make it their fault..and if you don't know that all college football players that can get in go to bars, then you are too naive to have an opinion.

Of course. Did you miss the final 2 words in that paragraph, or are you glossing over it in your haste to pile on the new guy?

How often are you the target of other males' jealousy? I'd say never in your 40+ years.

Everyday, son. Every damned day.

My first concern is for the young man injured. What is up with this club letting 4 (minimum) young men into a club drinking under age. For now I'm praying for the injured young man from Eastern to have a quick recovery and no permanent damage and or lose an eye.

This club should be shut down because of serving under aged drinking at least until all facts are in. (I bet this isn't the first time) What ever the University , AD Barnhart, and coach Stoops decide I'll be 100% behind their decisions what ever they may be!

Not much else to say for now. If your a Christian I urge to pray for all involved and their families! Truly Sad!

Fuster, first of all there's nothing official that it was 3 on 1.

Either way, don't roll up on some guys and start something if you can't finish it, no such thing as a fair fight.

Also, you should do an AMA on what it's like to be a Beta.

Starts to look like trouble, but not the end of the world, unless someone really did go to his face with a bottle. If so, who knows what happens to that actor. Not a good situation, to be sure.

Fuster: Prior behavior? The airsoft gun "incident"?? Seriously?? Forget the OVERREACTION by campus authorities for locking campus down. That situation was poor judgment, but no bad, or even criminal, behavior.

I don't know. The story is on Deadspin now. The UK players don't come off too bad and the Eastern schmuck does. I'm betting recruits read Deadspin more than they do the Courier Journal.

FC, you make some really good points. As far as your reception and getting "new guy' treatment I think the thread turned on you when you made the thread about you in comparing yourself at 42 to these guys at 18+. I think you might have been overzealous as well as trying to be a bit cheeky with the "punt" jab. Not that it matters what I think, because I know it doesn't, but the tree cutting and stump painting analogy was great. I'm going to borrow that one sometime in my work I am sure.

As for the bar deal: Is the behavior to be condoned? No. When two set's of guys with testosterone flowing, with alcohol flowing too, is this behavior likely to occur? Yes.

The "salt" for you, and the treatment of the guy who unfortunately is injured seems to be a case of "fellas if ya poke the bear, you get the bear..."

Just saying.

4-game suspensions for each.

Double secret probation for rest of tenure at UK. Last straw.

Sounds fair, right?

If this were UT or UofL, dudes would be made captains.

Hey, FusterCluck, who made you the Judge,Jury and Executioner ? Take your self righteous attitude and go find another football team where you can spew your unwanted venom. People do make mistakes but I assume you never did.
There is a saying that says, he who has not sinned, cast the first stone, so unless you have had a mistake free life, shut your trap.
