>Anyone else enjoy National Signing Day? The surprises were fantastic. Baity and Jackson- two DB's at 6'3". That is not a typo. Neither is this: Westry- DB at 6'4". Holy crap. Be sure to welcome Provitt, as he seems like the kind of player (QUICK Defensive Tackle) who will be very good at introductions in the near future. Just a fantastic class overall and could not be more enthused about how this recruiting period ended vs. how it seemed like it was going to.

>UK lost a lot of commits but filled those spaces with a lot of length and athleticism when it was all said and done.

>Stoops had knee surgery

>FWIW, I think we have a solid chance at another recruit or two before it's all said and done.

>Speaking of recruits, welcome to the BBN, class of 2015!

>Remember Alvonte Bell? 3* Joker recruit who was at one point the biggest star in our class? Couldn't come here and instead went to a CC? Yeah, he's back. Definitely needs some polishing but he's got talent. Glad to have reeled him back in.

>In total, UK reeled in 4 OL (1 @ either guard or tackle and the others can be whatever is needed), 4 Linebackers (including Love), 5 Defensive Backs (with size, mind you), 2 Defensive Ends, 3 Wide Receivers all over 6'3", 2 Defensive Tackles, 2 Tight Ends, and 1 Running Back. 23 in total.

>Buh has been hired. Special Teams will be handled by the staff and not delegated to any particular member. I like this idea because I feel like it gives Stoops a better grasp on the 3rd group.

>I'm glad we have Stoops. Just sayin.

>In other news not related to football, Florida Basketball fans, all 1000 of them, are infuriated by the officials after the Wildcats came in and beat the gators on their home court- citing various blatant no-calls in the loss. Reports say that the irony and hypocrisy were palpable.

>Have a good one, you all. Drink some Pappy's, go wet a line, fly a kite, or something. Sunny day! As always, Go Big Blue!

Regarding Provitt, aren't we (he) waiting for an improved ACT test score? Thought I read somewhere a few weeks ago that his grades were OK but his standardized test score wasn't (?) Assuming his grades/scores are good to go, I'm really excited to see what he can do on the field - even if we have to wait until 2016.

I thought I had heard that Provitt was good to go. Now I'm interested to see if someone can chime in. There was a player who was waiting on the scores, but I can't recall if it was the DT.

UK signed 23 players. 20 of them were 6'2" or better. The under 6'2" players were a 6'0" DB, a 5'11" DB and a 5'8" RB. The is no doubt that the coaching staff was concentrating on players with length.

I know Stoops wants to sign 4* DB Kendrell McFadden if he improved his ACT score, which he took yesterday. Anyone know why LB Darrien McNair didn't sign with anyone? Grades?

As always , thanks for the roundup.

As far as Provitt I don't think we will know until he arrives in campus (or not). But If a player signs and LOI and then doesn't qualify you lose that LOI. Meaning you can't carry it over to the next class. So I doubt Stoops would have accepted the LOI unless they felt very good about him qualifying

Believe we got a steal with our new RB King. Kid is blazing fast, reminds me of Boom in his clips. He probably redshirts but if he can put on some weight without losing speed, he's gonna be a lot of fun to watch in this offense.

Very excited to see what Dawson can do with all these pieces we have on offense now. And the continued progress of Towles. Can Barker make a run at the starting spot in the Spring? Will be interesting to see how this competition plays out.

And on defense, if we can get Love eligible this season our LB corp should be night and day from last year.

OK maybe I should have made it clearer. They were concentrating on recruits with length that also had football skills and were football players.

IMO with the basketball on grass that so many teams are new playing it is necessary to have length or you will get jump balled to death.

Oh by the way were you referring to pick up basketball games or were you referring to pick up football games.

Hey I have always been curious if Cauley-Stein could play WR in the SEC.

All in good fun C1180,WCS could probably play WR in the SEC.....probably for most of 1 play anyway.

On a serious football note these recruits have the size to make plays,I hope they have the skill to be in position to make them.

You are correct that they must have the football skills and a football mentality to go with the length to be of value to the UK football team.
