Stoops...

So, you want people to live with their head in the sand? He has been absolute trash for what we pay him. Simply staying longer than any other coach, thus having a better chance at the most wins over any other previous coach, doesn't make him a great coach.
I don't care what you do. I'm 61, and I've lived through a lot of horrible UK football, and I'm going to enjoy this era of UK football.

Nope, we're not UG, but we DO have a good team and we will probably get a good bowl this year.

They were 9-3 on the season and had some of their impact players sit out. They also had an injured QB.

I already addressed Penn St above. Similarly, VA Tech had some of their impact players out, and they were 8-5 on the season. UF was okay win, but FL wasn't ranked at the time and got hot later in the year. They finished 10-3.

None of those are wins against great teams. You're all literally proving my point for me.
Kentucky will never beat a great team unless it is at home. I don't care who the coach is.

To me its clearly that Florida team. Not a great team but a good team.

At least you're being honest about it. Personally, I find that to be pathetic considering how much we pay him and invest in the program. I'm just ready for a change for someone that can take us up another level.

That's probably true, but shouldn't we have a coach that at least puts us in position to have a shot at it?
I don't think any coach has done that at KY against a really good team. We have always gotten killed in games like that. Not sure we will ever be that good.

So you're just 3 days a "new" member, huh? [eyeroll]

Let’s be realistic. And let’s be honest. Who, in this era of NIL and conference realignment, would be interested in coming here…that is, anyone that we might really want? CMS needs to be more willing to change and grow and that is probably our best hope.

On espn we are only the predicted favorite in 2 of our last six.

Yeah, I know, but IMO we will win at least one of those we aren't supposed to. ( Bama?)

I guess I just get tired of hearing UK fans calling Stopps "trash", when our program has been exactly that for decades, and he's done an outstanding job bringing us this far.

Will he, CAN he, take UK to the next level? Not very likely, but like every coach before him he faces the same obstacles , so it's not a Stoops thing. It's not his fault Leary can't throw it in the ocean.
