I know Stoops and Vince Marrow have had some highly ranked recruiting classes and each has received multiple contract extensions and raises because of that. However, is the recruiting really as good as what has been advertised? I have not watched a game the last three seasons and seen any of the recruits be "wow" type players. In the past we have had players like Dupree, Woodyard, Williamson, Locke, Cobb, Lyons, Abney, Woodson and many others just dominate game in and game out season after season. These are true impact players who have made huge impacts on games and seasons.

Going through his "big talent recruits" over the last three seasons doesn't show any real impact players. Sure these guys are still maybe considered young but most truly great players can make almost an immediate impact quickly in college.

The list of name recruits from his first class includes Timmons, Hatcher (4), Nate Willis, McWilson (4),
Kemp, Blue and Badet. The second season which was the class to end all classes included Baker (4),
Barker (4), Bone (4), Edwards (4), Elam (4/5), Horton (4), Richardson (4), West (4), BOOM (4) and Johnson(4). Last year's class fell apart at the end and only had Eli Brown (4) and Conrad (4) as really highly ranked.

I'd say out of those guys the only true standouts are Boom and CJ Johnson and both have been up and down and not everyday most downs type players. It's obviously too early on Brown and Conrad and maybe Barker. I know everyone says the talent level is far and away better, but is it really?

If you take away the last two abysmal recruiting classes of the Brooks era, which really put the program behind the 8 ball, we have fielded some pretty talented teams from a UK Fball point of view. We do not have any game changers on the field now and it shows in the product.
