We have a ridiculous wealth of talent this Fall/Spring.
While we have had better individual talent, the collective groups are very impressive.
(2) 5 Star Centers, one with some experience
(4) 5 Star Forwards, one experienced. This is the greatest collection of forward talent I have seen on a Cal-coached team. (maybe even any UK team in my 48 years). Any two forwards you bring off of our bench will be better/as good as the opposing teams starters on any night.
(2) 5 star guards to combine with (2) 4 Star guards

While we will struggle on D for a few months, by Feb-April, we could be embarrassing teams. HD is the biggest key there. He is rumored to be a lock-down defender with amazing athleticism.

I'm giddy, like most of you are. We only have 6 months left to poke holes in each players game, as well as our collective team.

The Cats will have a loaded roster. I hope the lack of experience doesn't jump up to bite them.

We need SKJ, WG, and Diallo to emerge as leaders for this team. Hopefully one of SKJ or WG proves themselves starter-worthy (I believe Diallo starts). I do believe that having sophomore Lamb and Jones start behoved our freshmen in 2011-2012 campaign.

Either way it's another exciting season to be had for us Cat fans and either way we will be a force in March.

Think we will struggle more on O then D early as Diallo , JV and Richards are all from jump street elite defenders.

Green will be a leader as well as anybody.

Green , JV and Diallo will be the core leaders IMO . Gabriel doesn't have that in him as he isn't a vocal guy it seems and SKJ couldn't see the floor last season so I doubt he will be looked to to lead. I do think we will see LSU and Auburn Gabriel moreso then NCAA tourney Gabriel.

I do think SKJ's minute's were a result of something off the court initially, then by the end of the season he was too far behind in terms of game experience.

But that might be more of a hope, because we usually hear something about things like that.

Figuring out who the bell cow is on this team will be the first order of business, where do we go when we need a basket? I think we will be turnover prone,if you thought early last year looked like AAU ball you ain't seen nothing yet.

We will be fun to watch but learning to play half court basketball will be a struggle.

I anticipate some ugly wins early on and a few losses. But even the Wall team NEARLY lost their first game had Wall not hit that game winner - if I remember correctly.

Once they find the chemistry the talent/depth of this squad will be difficult to beat.

My hope is the depth will alleviate some of the lull we usually have in Jan/Feb. Usually we just have to wait until they figure it out...having replacements hopefully makes it not so pronounced.
