State Legislator on KSR says they don't know

This is the crap that drives me nuts

I am a fiscal conservatve. I run my house on a budget, if you dont have it, you dont spend it.
I hate when the government takes my money and throws it at stuff that is irresponsible financially speaking

It drives me nuts seeing my tax money bailout a corrupt and irresponsible entity such as the University of Louisville.

One of my many gripes about liberals. My money is no object.
I don't know which is why I am asking, but what political party were most of the people affiliated with that formed the YUM Center arena authority, appointed the board members and negotiated the contract with the Louisville Athletic Association? What party were most of the members of the Louisville Athletic Association at the time of the deal? The answer to that is who the real crooks are....

The real problem was that the board and the LAA were too closely related. I don't remember where the article was but, both boards were basically the one and the same.

Yep! I just don't know which political party was the in the majority here. These are the people to blame.

Mayor for life jerry abramson was one of those in charge. Lot of ul grads too.

But don't forget jim host! A UK fan.

So, now that the tax payers of Kentucky are on the hook for the Yum, why does UofL still have ANY control over it?

That has made this situation even more ridiculous!!

Because TT has stated that any attempts to renogiate the lease would lead him to just build his own arena and he would vacate the YUM!!!! I'd say see you later as as so little of the profits benefit anyone other than UOfL. Let them go back to playing in the freedom barn where they belong until such an arena comes to fruition. When TT is not robbing the university and city blind he might find building an arena is a little tougher than he thinks.

Here's the link to the voting results on this bill:

http://www.lrc.ky.gov/record/17RS/HB330/vote_history.pdf

Passed the Kentucky Senate 30-7 (with one voter abstaining). Passed the House 72-8 (with 20 not voting).

I'm going to make a couple of phone calls today to ask why my reps voted as they did. Wouldn't hurt if others did same.

Edit: BTW, I live in Oldham County. There are 4 House members from that County and one Senate member. All 5 are Republicans, all 5 voted yes on this bill......

DOn't act like conservatives care about your money either. Case in point Trump visiting one of his own properties every weekend, costing tax payers $3+ million dollars every single time. He's already spent more on vacations than Obama did in one year, and Trump is doing it to pad his own wallet. And Trump wanting to build the f****** border wall. Additionally, as someone else said, only one republican voted against this YUM Center bailout.
Never said that. However, if you look at the voting characteristics of liberal politicians vs conservative politicians, the amount of tax money spent by liberals on welfare projects, various governmental expenditures, and numerous give-away projects greatly, greatly exceeds that spent under conservative (Republican) leadership.

What were they voting for with this? This just is a declaration of an emergency...or at least that is in the title. Without the actual bill we have no idea what they were voting for.

They should call him on his bluff. They don't have the funding to build another arena on their own.

Abortions, don't really care. Gay marriage, eh whatever. Using my tax dollars on bailing out the *#%+ing yum center, furious. And it's not like it's unsolvable problem. Renegotiate and stop letting ul athletics rob the state blind

With what money would he build it with? UL is running out of money. That entire administration needs to be fired.

Jurichhas hired well enough that he should have been pursued very hard by bigger schools over the past 10 years. The fact that he hasn't lobbied of been approached by schools should be very telling. There is so much money being exchanged that it would be beneficial to do it, and schools are well aware of his reputation that their scared of him.

Ummmm. You do realize that the vast majority of representatives that voted for this were republicans right? Just because you are a republican doesn't mean everything they do is great or beneficial.
