Sports Illustrated's 2015 College BB POY Is....Duke's Grayson Allen

When he hasn't been sick (like against Utah) or playing Kentucky, he has had a pretty damn good season. Certainly should be in the discussion. I'd go with either Hield, Valentine, or Dunn though.

The only problem with that is Towns, Okafor, Kaminsky, etc played college ball in 2015

I'm confused.. This can't be for the 2015/16 season only a month in... So it's for all of the 2015 calendar year?

Gosh, I couldn't give two poops about a POY award that is cut up between two seasons. Yeah, so let's take virtually ALL the stellar players from 2015, and basically remove their accomplishments from April-and-on because they went to the NBA? Got it.

Congrats Allen, on a good game in April and a great December of early season basketball...

You're as confused as I am. Is he POY for the first month of the season? Surely it isn't for the 2014-15 season. That's why I asked for a link, but the op would prefer to be a dickhead. It will be interesting to find out what it actually said.

Well here's what I'm thinking.. it's SI's final issue of the year, and I bet they hand out awards for the calendar year.. IF that's the case, the award should go to someone on a squad from 2014/2015.. A 2015 year in review doesn't care about 2 months of early college basketball.. it cares about the big finale, tournament, title winner, final4, etc from January to April.

In terms of the NFL.. SI's 2015 award isn't going to be the Panthers despite being 14-0.. it will be the Seahawks or the Patriots for their performance in the post-season.

I have no link; it was a magazine article

The award is apparently for the calendar year as the article referenced his NCAA title game performance

Ha, Ok then. Talk about Cherry Picking..

I can think of about 8 players from the F4 alone who should have gotten that award over him.
