South Carolina @ Kentucky (Senior Day)

Looks like everything else will be the same except Shelby in center hitting 8th.

Well, It seems we have people posting in the other thread. I sure hope we get a hit soon. Harney is doing alright.

Does it seem like to anyone else Kentucky is losing by 5 or 6 runs? I know it’s just 1-0 but it doesn’t feel that way.

Seems as if our pitching staff has something in common with Florida State. They are known as Free Shoes U. We are Free Pass U. 4 HBP's 3 walks... Ridiculous...

On top of that. Brett Kerry for South Carolina has thrown 52 pitches through 5 innings.

South Carolina pitcher has thrown 50 pitches through 5 innings!

I have quickly become an Auburn fan, if they win their last 5 games and we lose our last 5 they will keep us out of the SEC tournament. If that happens then we will have to change coaches

Down 6-0 and you attempt a bunt for hit. This staff is a joke.

I’m actually at the game and the bunt attempt was actually a good call. Gave the batter a better look at the pitcher and the pitcher had something else to think about. Just wish we were in a position/mentality to try it earlier: oh well.

And the team is dead. Just wanting to go home. No emergency or emotion at all.

That seems to be a theme for Mingione teams after the middle of the season just about every year since the 2nd.

Good deal. Just frustrating.

I may be wrong but it seems that the loss to Florida last Friday has completely zapped Kentucky. No energy on Saturday in the Florida loss. And the last two games have been horrible.

Mingione isn’t going anywhere until after next season at the earliest. We can lose the remaining four games and Mingione is still back. Why we did that extension I have no idea. If it were me I would have waited until this season played out.

Barnhart made the exact same stupid decision on the women’s basketball coach. It’s mind boggling that he was that obtuse on both sports.

So... if you noticed, around the ball field today were a lot of tributes to those who graduated. That was because the staff made the decision, which was not well received, to only have those with zero eligibility left go through senior day activities. So, even those unlikely to return or who had stated the intent not to return weren't able to. Harper a pretty good example I believe.

Again, this type of decision only pushes people further away from Mingione and the program as they feel alienated.

Wow. Did not know that. I was wondering why only 4 were recognized. I think Dick Gabriel called them super seniors. What a boneheaded decision.

Proving not only is a Ming terrible coach, he is a POS.

These tributes were done by parents because they were not happy with the tribute the school chose. The team will give jerseys to those who don't return, but didn't let them go through senior day activities.

He is not well liked from what I can tell. Even the best players basically telling others to grit their teeth and get through the experience.
You have to have an inside connection. I’m not going to ask who it is but one day when you come up to a game I want to meet you and get all the inside information you can’t really share on here.

I’ve met Mingione through the UK summer baseball camps. I can personally tell you he is great with the little kids and their parents really like him, including myself. My son thinks he’s great. Hearing things like Comebak has stated on here several times and reading past players less than positive comments, it really makes me wonder. It seems like we are talking about two different people. Either way, as a coach at the division 1 level, your job is to win games period. If you don’t these guys know what the consequences are.

On some occasions I'll have some people close to the team reach out to me. It's not all the time, but I enjoy it when it happens. Most things that I think I can share, I will. Love to meet anyone at a game though. I don't get up to UK all that often though. Usually a game or series a year, since I live in Knoxville.

Who would be some good coaches we have a realistic shot of bringing in who can get this program moving forward again? I have given up on the current guy in charge. Mingione just doesn't have it. If we wait another year to replace him, we're going to be in much worse shape. There's no sound reason to give this guy another season. There are many sound reasons for replacing him ASAP. We need someone who can move us forward, not slide backward and linger in mediocrity as we've done under Mingione. Send him packing.

What a pathetic, uninspiring effort led by a total clown of a coach. Ming should be fired tonite. Not tomorrow. But Barnhart doesn’t have the balls to make the tough decision. It’s infuriating that UK baseball is a terrible program.
Look around Lexington from Kville, Nashville, Louisville, Bloomington, South Bend. This is pathetic and should be put to rest. It's year 5.

Florida's coach took NM's lunch money last weekend. He totally backed down.
