This Lee guy is relentless on the sports talk radio. Claims at age 70 plus he can in 10 hours teach anyone to shoot 80%. I guess he wants Coach Cal and UK to hire him. But's day after day all day long!
I do not think he can take anyone that bad and in 10 hours of instruction make him an 80% ft shooter. Some of the problems for these guys is mental. I coached for 26 years and had guys who could nail 8 out of 10 all day long in practice but barely make 60% under game situations. And we tried to make practice as much like a game situation but mom and dad and his sweet heart are not sitting in the stands in practice. I will admit there is no reason for any talented college player for shooting under 60%.I coached youth basketball, Jr. Pro, and AAU for kids aged 9 through 13 for several years. A large part of every practice was dedicated to free throws combined with the non-shooting players practicing boxing out. NONE of my players shot less than 50%; let alone 35%.
Who says he's a farmer and why slander a occupation when it actually takes pretty good intelligence to make a living in agriculture these days? This Lee guy is relentless on the sports talk radio. Well winning at this level is a whole lot more important than winning at the level you're talking about. Spending an hour of a two hour practice practicing free throws just isn't plausible, especially when practice time is already very limited by the rules.I coached youth basketball, Jr. Pro, and AAU for kids aged 9 through 13 for several years. I was by no means comparing my experience to the college level. BUT, making free throws is still the same. Same goal height, same distance away.Well winning at this level is a whole lot more important than winning at the level you're talking about.
