Some of you owe Diallo an apology.

They won't learn a thing. People who automatically view the world with that bitterness just move on to the next complaint.
It wasn't until I worked with a chronic complainer, the world always sucks kind of personality in my early 30s that I realized some people just aren't happy unless they are unhappy. Was an epiphany of sorts....

Thankfully (sadly?) I found this place much younger than that and learned the same lesson earlier.

You know who you are.

Agree wholeheartedly. This garbage about HD not caring about the UK team next year is just that - GARBAGE. He gives us the added depth we need at guard and that will allow Knox to use his size and other skills as more of an inside player. I was never comfortable with him as a 2G because I'm not sure his handle is quite as good as it would have to be as a guard. In any case, let's give HD a break for God's sake! Welcome back and help us capture #9!

This is it! I feel sorry for the families if they have one. Probably on wife #5

Alot dont owe him anything, all alot of us wanted was for him to at least play before leaving if you was gonna jump. He apologized to US for that and said that basically what he should have done.

Now if anybody ever made personal attacks, or called him names then yes, they should apologize.

I'm surprised he returns after all the shit being threw at him by our dumbass fans.
Nah, the truth is that it's always a vocal minority of fans who go overboard. Many were justifiably frustrated with the thought of "none and done" but very few took too far.

As I said last week, I think some grace should be given to all here. This was a unique situation and it's clear this was not an easy decision which could have legitimately gone either way. No one can really, with all honesty, say I told you so on this one. Anyone who got it right was guessing.

But hey, I'm thrilled he's coming back and that's the bottom line.

I disagreed with your comments last week and still do. But its the really sad sacks that are showing themselves tonight ( you aren't one of them as you are one of the better posters on here) . It is so obvious who they are as they still are attacking him calling him a liar ect ect as it hurts their pride to much to say they said some immature things . Again this is not directed at you IL.

No worries, there is no place for player bashing here, and now that he's back for sure, I expect that kind of talk will end.

You guys do know that had a NBA team guaranteed that they would have taken him in the early 20's he would have in fact bolted, right?
That is why he waited till the eleventh hour to decide to come back to UK. Now, can someone please tell me why he didn't play last season? Honest question.

Why didn't he, I don''t know. But I'm glad that he didn't.

You know who you are.

I don't know about that.

lets be honest, the only reason he is back is because-despite nearly endless efforts- he could not find an agreeable suitor.

If he had, the "haters" would be the contingent saying 'I told you so'.

Regardless, he is retuning and that is great for UK. Let's move on without dividing the fan base or deifying the kid as if he made some incredibly selfless decision.

Are you going to post this in every thread? He still could have went if he really wanted to...he could have went overseas for a year, he could have done this, and that...but he didnt. He lived in reality to see if he could get his dream job...oh dear so awful. He didn't play last year a because it's part if Cals character...has that ever crossed your mind? That it was to not disrupt chemistry with the other kids...that it wasn't a desperation move to win no matter what. Not really hard to see.

Did you not see the tweet from earlier that said he was returning? That was a pretty good source considering the picture was from today. We don't know that he waited until almost midnight to decide. He never made a tweet or anything to announce until after midnight. So, he could've decided yesterday for all you know. Announcements can come after anytime after a decision. Although there is pretty good evidence that the decision was made ALOT earlier than the eleventh hour. That's just when word broke for sure.

But even if you're right, how many kids do you think wouldn't go if if guaranteed a 1st round spot?

To answer your question.........Cause he wasn't ready!!! Some of you acts as though it's so easy to come in midway through the year and just just in the games. It's not at all. It takes a lot of time to get conditioned and game ready for the collegiate level. Fact is that he just wasn't ready. And the rumors going around that Cal asked him to play and Diallo declined are not true at all. Nobody can show a single shred of evidence that says this is true.

its great to see a kid take so much pride in his school that he wants to come back to go for a title. Its also refreshing to know that to some money isnt everything.

I won't go as far as to say anybody needs to apologize to Diallo, as I doubt much of anybody in the fan base actually knows him. But I will say, there are some people who need to admit that they jumped to conclusions with both Diallo and Cal. It is very obvious that one of the more popular views among the fan base was that he used UK and Cal, and that he never intended to play for UK. It is obvious that was wrong just from reading his statement when he announced he was coming back. And honestly, he needs to be praised and embraced. He could have stayed in the NBA draft, and he would have been chosen, and perhaps in the first round, but he elected to come back to UK because he didn't have a guarantee that would happen. We just had 3 underclassmen declare despite not having a guarantee. In fact, we have had very few players in Diallo's situation that have returned. And by his situation, I mean a guy that could maybe go in the first round.

Hami also has said he was gonna pay UK back his tuition if he was drafted. Some of all are real assholes

You probably don't watch a lot of UK games but UK teams nowadays usually start a lot freshman. They play close games with teams early in the season against teams that are not near UK's talent level. Defensive assignments (that's when the other team has the ball), not a lot of offensive schemes in place early in the year (that's when UK has the ball), not familiar with each other, etc. By January all that starts melting away and they begin to gel. Cal was supposed to throw a true freshman into the mix and have the chemistry set back a notch or three? Whose mins was he gonna take? Fox's? Monk's? ? Briscoe's?

I was shocked at the announcement since I had read so many on here saying he was gone as they were bashing him for taking advantage of UK. :scream:

Things worked out well for the kid and UK,players like LeBron James,Kobe Bryant or Moses Malone don't come along everyday. He did the right thing at multiple levels and hopefully will profit because of the decision he made.

As to this thread, there were posters over the top on both sides of the issue.I hope Cal,UK and some other kid don't go down this road again for a while,it might not end as well the next time(no I'm not saying that simply because he returned)

I agree, it is great to see this. Not sure it applies to Diallo, but I get what you are saying

Not sure which is worse: the chronic complainers or the fans who use positive things that we should all be happy about to attack other fans

Bottom line

Player tested waters, came back. Big freakin deal.

Rest is all self inflicted drama

Get a life

Get over yourselves.... let's enjoy watching the season

False. Repeatedly calling him a liar, saying he used UK, and never had any intention of playing. Those people need to be called out.
You can call me out if you wish. I was wrong, he will play at UK. However, I never called him a liar and "intent" is an interesting word. His coming back doesn't prove or disprove his original intent. I still don't like the situation but in the end, I was dead wrong. Good.

Wasn't referring to you.
