SMU goes down to Temple. There goes their undefeated season. Also, Nova loses to Providence.

I typically don't like pointing out other teams' losses when the idea is to say, "See other teams lose too" as justification for a Kentucky loss. But, for us to climb back up over some other teams in the polls, we need these type of teams to lose. Of course the main point is for Kentucky to keep winning but it takes higher ranked losses too. Purdue wasn't upset but with their loss in one poll we certainly jump ahead of them. There really is no great college team this year.

USC lost tonight too. They're ranked 2 spots ahead of us. Of course duke lost earlier in the week. We might climb up to 18th or so since do many teams lost.

Nova is highly overrated, just like last year. They are paper champions. The computer models like the RPI love them, but in March, they will likely fold. More of the same.

Villanova chucks a ton of 3's. Hot nights lead to lopsided scores that the computers value.

Use computer ratings for what the are, a helpful tool.

Yes but I was hoping they would continue to win so they would get a 1 seed. I want to be the 2, 3 or 4 in their bracket. Last year they were a 1 seed in one of the weakest brackets I've ever seen. That's the only reason Michigan State made it to the ff.
How pollsters can't see that Nova is average at best is beyond me. But I'll take it if they put us in their bracket. No way nova beats UK.

Remember everyone, Dickie V told us on air that we couldn't be a 1,2, or 3 seed this year. Remember that. Never forget.

There's a reason his parents named him Dick. At first sight they knew how he was going to turn out.

Yeah, 3 seed very much in play for UK. 2 seed not out of question either depending on how we play and what unfolds with other teams. 1 seeds seem to be already decided by media and associated talking heads.

Every team is basically mediocre this year. We still have one of the highest ceilings. So long as we keep improving we have a good of a shot as anyone to sneak away with a title, aka UConn.

That'd be nice wouldn't it? Over the years so many UK teams were either favored or co-favored to win it all and came up short...it'd be nice to 'steal' one.

With the way the college bball landscape looks this year, if we were to win out with wins @KU, @A&M, and end up winning the SEC tourney, then we will have just four losses and will likely get a 1 seed.

I just don't see us winning both of those games.

Realistically, we should end up somewhere between a 2-5 seed.

I think we lose 3 more games: @KU, @A&M, and another SEC road game to a lesser team that gets up for us and plays their best game of the season (a la Auburn) or a loss in the SEC tourney.

With 7 losses with our SOS, that puts us at a 3 or 4 seed, IMHO. And depending on what other teams do, we might even sneak into a 2 seed.

The way it is looking, the 1 seeds are going to have 4-5 losses each. UNC might be the exception, but they still have to play some really tough games, so who knows, they may have 4-5 losses as well. Our SOS might put us in a 2 seed if we only have 6-7 losses.

Can't agree more. Even though we're still on a torrid pace, historically, we're long overdue to catch a break. It's time the ball bounces our way a little. UConn (twice), Duke (at least once, maybe twice), and Louisville all walked away with titles in pretty suspect years/easy brackets.
