Friend has been to 50+ stadii for games. Says WV has by far the nastiest & scary fans.
Who was his 2nd and 3rd?
I wonder if South Carolina, Miss State, or Alabama are up there.
I’ve been to all three and these are a backyard BBQ compared to some.
Hell, U of L has half the fans of those SEC teams, and twice the assholes.
About the only place I’ve felt uncomfortable in the SEC is UT, and have been accompanied by relatives in Orange.
But there are some in every crowd, reminding all of us to help insure that fans that visit, here, do not feel intimidated.
I’ve shouted down a youngster or two and reminded them we are not a Jefferson County Community College!
Make visitors, ESPECIALLY SEC brethren feel at home. You’d be surprised how often Karma will pay you back!!
They've been known to throw batteries and drop live snakes on visiting fans. WTF. Worse than Tennessee or Louisville.
True story. I was headed to the gambling boat across the River from
Louisville in 2005ish on a Thursday night. I suddenly encountered a 7:30 p.m. traffic jam at spaghetti junction, the huge multi-ramp junction of I-64 and I-65.
At first I thought nothing about it. Then I noticed the thick brown dust that covered 80 percent of the cars in the scrum. I then started looking at license plates. Some were not easy to see for the dust.
It was the visiting West Virginia crowd!!!
And look, I’M A CENTRAL KENTUCKY FARM BOY . . . WHO KNOWS A GOOD CAR WASH IN TOWN.
Our long-time Card fan, @WildCard related a story of rambling about the stadium in WV, where another middle-aged man intercepted him and asked that he not descend into the mosh-pit he and his wife were headed to . . . warning him the area was not entirety safe for West Virginia fans, let alone Card fans.
My last two college football destinations: Rutgers and West Virginia.
