Why does the softball team wear random colors? Orange socks today. Light blue helmets at one point, maybe regularly. What's up with this?

The orange today was support for pediatric cancer research.

Is that something they are doing all season? Wearing different colors to show different support? I really don't mind it, but just curious why they were doing it.

I think we caught a huge break with Abby Cheek plowing into the MSU 1st baseman as she attempted to throw out the go ahead run at home plate !

Last year the SB team wore various different colored socks during a game (pink, orange, purple were some I remember) to represent awareness for different cancers. Me and my daughter went to the game...I wasn't sure what was going on, but then the PA announcer stated what cancer awareness each girl was representing when they went up to bat.

I thought it was pretty cool. I don't know if they all wore the same color this time or if they are going to split it up to multiple days for the various cancers.
