So...what's left on the board to fill out the roster?

With Wright, Square and Jones all returning, unless we can land an elite pass rusher, I don't think LB is a need anymore. We could definitely use another guy to put pressure on the QB to help JJ and Wright (maybe Jackson, Wallace and/or Thrower?). Young's transfer will help the DL and we've got plenty of talented youngsters hopefully ready to step up. Secondary probably needs one more guy who can start/play nickel. I think we've got talented guys on the roster but many haven't played many snaps.

If Rosenthal returns, we can probably rely on the recruits we've landed the past few years plus the Auburn transfer to rebuild the BBW. If he doesn't, we should look to the portal to find a starting LT. Another playmaker at WR would definitely help but we may already have one or more on campus (or soon to be on campus). Other than that, I think we're pretty dang deep across the board on the offense.

With all the transfers, I'm not even sure how many scholarships we have to give. Are we expected to sign any more HS kids in February or will any new guys coming on board all be transfers?

You look at our potential roster next year and it's amazing the quality and depth that Stoops has built. We've got a lot of talent returning from a 10-win team. 2022 could be another 'special' year.

A lockdown CB is a MUST!!! To a lesser extent we need an edge rusher. Would love to see Watkins finally have a breakout year and JJ get stronger.

If Dare comes back, then we need all the skill guys we can get.
Dynamic playmakers what sets the great teams apart. Bama lost theirs and couldnt match UGA anymore. We're losing ours. Hope we have a couple already on the roster in Dekel or Barion. Michael Drennen was supposed to be our next but hasnt panned out yet.

I hope Rosenthal returns. We saw what the Oline is without him. I don't want to rely on a true freshman LT

Well, I don't believe that. That seems like a silly decision.

If true, we need to bring in another legit starting LT.

Getting injured in the U of L game probably helped make up his mind.
An impressive athlete for his size. He was simply lost, however, at times on the field this year. Not sure if that was knowledge of the playbook, motor, or lack of experience. The NFL is the real big boy league. If he leaves, I wish him the best, but I have to believe coming back another year makes him a lot of money he may be leaving on the table.

But then, maybe he is a combine wunderkind and the NFL drafts on potential. Could happen. Either way, I wish him the best.

my hope is the staff will bring in DB, OT, Edge Rusher from the portal

The staff has already got one edge rusher from the portal...

Jordan Wright from the graduation portal ;)

I agree, though...if they can bring in stud DB, Edge, and OT (especially if any have more than 1 year of eligibility), you do it.

At this point, I think Dare is by far the biggest question mark...if he returns, that does so much for the OL.

In order of priority IMO...
1. If Rosenthal is not back...we have huge problem at tackle IMO. The bowl game should be an eye opener of how much havoc they put on Levis. That side of LOS nearly lost the entire game we were the better team on all other aspects solidly ahead of Iowa.
2. I am not sold we are good at edge rusher. I'm glad Jordan Wrihgt is back...but he's been a bad edge rusher the past 3 years. Not sold another year is going to improve it. I think we need an upgrade at the Jack or Sam Lber from portal
3. Have to get a DB in portal I can live with Valentine, Dre Phillips or Juco....but we need to get a starter on opposite DB to be legit in secondary.
4. I do feel we need another good WR in addition to the Va Tech transfer. I hate the lose the Syracuse kid as he looked like exactly what we needed...but we need a clone of him.

The rest to me we're fine with what we've got coming back.

I wonder what our odds are with Kobe Hudson WR from Auburn? Seems like he would help bring in some experience to the WR room.

Dare is extremely short sighted and greatly overestimating his value in the draft if he goes. Hopefully he sees the light and changes his mind and stays on as UK's starting LT. He's going to make millions and millions more if he says...
