What's the best/worst/dumbest smack you've heard from a Tard so far?

I am sure you can find somebody talking smack but the reality is most UL fans know how hard it is to win in Rupp and will keep quiet. Losing a key player hurts as well since we know we needed those fouls. Now if we win I am sure the smack will begin.

According to some of the Louisville fans, they actually think they are a better team than us.

I love the "If Pitino can't beat them this year, then he needs to go" stuff I'm seeing online.

The guys in the office next to me were killing me yesterday. They kind of whisper because they know I am a UK fan and I can hear everything. Anyway, i'll summarize their conversation:

- Laughter
- We aren't crap this year, like we thought we would be.
- Laughter
- Summary of the Ohio State game. Apparently we are the worst team in CBB. Monmouth is better and would give them a better game.
- Pitino has out coached Cal, and will do it again on Saturday. (cough, cough 1-7, cough cough)
- Laughter
- Their only concern is "Corrupt Arena". If they lose, that will be the only reason because UofL is far superior and better coached.

I was pretty much in here fuming. But, we haven't given ourselves much to be confident about in recent weeks. I think we have superior talent, we just haven't tapped into it consistently yet.

IDK, I am always confident and feel like we could turn it on. Hopefully, we will see that on Saturday.

Easy to fix. Quit.

not just us----

CardSoHard--Right now who is the best team in the nation? From what I've seen thus far I can honestly say I think the Cards are #1.
edwgiv--We are one of the best teams in the nation.

Here's the difference between us and them. The week leading up to the football game, they talked smack and wanted me to talk back. No way. The football team has embarrassed me way too many times to ever talk smack.

But they are 1-7 against Cal. They continue to say "this year is different, and it will be the first of many to come". I don't know how they do it. Where does the confidence come from?

Ive heard quite a bit of the 'we wont get any calls' bs but thats about it. Their only excuse can be the refs at this point.

My thing with Louisville fans is this- if we're so overrated every year, if Cal sucks so much as a coach, if Pitino is so great...then WIN THE GAME. It's pretty simple- every year they talk and talk and talk, well WIN THE GAME.

We're 7-1 against you losers since Cal got here, swept you twice. Win one or keep your mouths shut.

I promise you I wouldn't be talking smack to UConn fans if we had them coming up in the NCAA Tourney. You know why? Because they've beaten us the last 3x we saw them there.

It take a real loser to constantly talk smack to a team that has backhanded you 7 of the last 8x.

I haven't heard a thing, as usual. Though, I don't live anywhere near Louisville and most people don't even know they exist.

What I see and hear is muted optimism. There is a little of preemptive excuse making (apparently Cal has the refs under his thumb, etc.). If I were a UL fan I would feel pretty decent going in. There is not much that UK is doing well now (not counting when Murray goes bananas). We have only lost two games but UL is closer to UCLA and OSU than they are any of our wins. I am a little nervous. I think we win but that is only because I think we will be up for this game and we will see a pulse from our frontline. I am just not sure who will step up. Really wanting this to be Skal's coming out. That or Wynard is Kanter 2.0.

What I've heard is pretty much: "UL is the better team, and would win on a neutral court; but it will take one of their better efforts for UL to win in Rupp."

I can't say they are wrong at this point. But, I do think that UK has more upside. To date we have seen that "upside" is usually going to be the key word for Calipari's UK teams; and the fun part is that he often reaches a lot of that upside by March. So, whatever happens on Saturday won't sink my entertainment value. I've learned to enjoy the ride with Calipari and his freshmen brigades.

Some dude named Kevin called into Jerry Eaves radio show last week. Saying how this years game when UL wins will start the downfall of Cal and the program. Recruitment will suffer and Cal will leave for the NBA. Eaves quickly to his credit brought Kevin back to reality.

Just remember the facts are, ul sucks, and they want to be us, but it ain't happening and then smile.
