Think about that....We now have so much receiver talent that a player as talented as Timmons can't even get touches. It is definitely our best position on the field. Our receivers are one of the best group in the nation.

stoops thought it would help ryan in the return game and in explosive plays because teams cant focus on him. going forward i think teams are gonna start keying on johnson and baker and badet, timmons, and bone should be able to start working some weak spots in zones. i also think we start getting ryan a few more touches on sweeps and screens against some of these fast D's.

Teams keying on Johnson, Baker and Badet...that's 3 deadly weapons that can stretch a D which opens up so much for the other talented O players.

We all know our O hasn't come close to its potential, and that is scary. We saw a glimpse in the USC game first half.

I think as the passing game improves you will see a more diverse ball distribution. I don't see any one receiver putting up huge numbers this year. Looks for the end of year numbers to be pretty consistent across the board.

Looks like Montgomery is not getting much game action if any. Is he just buried on the depth chart, is he still recovering from injury, in the coaches doghouse, etc.???

I posted months ago that Timmons wouldnt get many touches other than ST; and essentially laughed at. The good news is, it says more about our team than it does about Timmons.

With the playmakers we have, Timmons is probably 7th or so in order of importance regarding "touches". Hes still a solid player. Hes just been passed up by alot of really good young players.

Havent seen much Snodgrass action either. Its also possible I've missed it since I'm usually just so thrilled to see receptions after the last few years

I wondered the same thing but there was an article saying that he was just trying to get back to game playing shape. Said he was coming along.

Combo of depth chart and injury. Takes awhile for people to recover from ACL surgery. People need to keep that in mind in the Poythress situation too.

I thought I remember hearing he had a set-back (medical) during the training camp. He is one of our most sure-handed receivers, so my guess is the staff can find a spot for him. We just need to get him healthy.

Dawson said there are inside receivers that are really good that have not yet seen the field. He also said it is a long season and those guys will be needed. I think Baker, Johnson and Badet, however, are the three that really gained his trust throughout fall camp. That is one of the reasons he said he did not respond negatively to Baker's huge drop at the beginning of the SC game.
