So much for recruiting taking a hit when....

I think the key has been Cal's personal involvement with recruiting this year. Just about every commit called out Cal as the reason they picked UK.

I think last year with a super-talented team on a historic run, that perhaps Cal left a little more recruiting up to his assistants. Plus Cal is a very competitive guy, I think all the Duke/K stuff lit a fire under him and he upped his game a bit.

...and don't forget the Platoon idea.

Supposedly, that was also going to cost us with the top recruits, too.

I'll admit that I thought losing Orlando was going to be a hit to the program. His story, his personality, and, yes... even his size... seemed to make him very relatable to a lot of the kids, especially the big guys. But, we all knew he'd be leaving at some point, anyway.

Regardless, Cal has definitely got the situation covered. What a haul!!! :cool2:

Honestly.... our recruiting most likely trickles down from Cal. The other coaches see how hard Cal works and it inspires them to try to match him and go all out for him. Same goes for his players. Like it or not Cal is coaching more then just the players.
