Should be an interesting weekend series in Lexington.

Get swept. Get fired. That's a pretty crap weekend.

I am not a fan of Miss. State but even I feel sorry that they now have Hendo.

Man, I don't want to think about that.

But hopefully the new stadium opening will stop Mingione to follow Cohen's footsteps

It has always seemed to me that the talent deficit that Kentucky has in most sports compared to other sports is far less in baseball. There are talented baseball players all around this area. Hopefully, Mingione realizes he can make his own empire right here. With baseball, moreso than even football, he can suck the talent south from the Big 10.

He has claimed from Day 1 that Kentucky was a dream job for he and his family. Looks like we'll find out because I imagine that Cohen's first call will be to Coach Ming. I hope Mitch opens up the checkbook soon.

From reading the Mississippi St message boards, the majority of their fans seem to prefer either Dan McDonell, Tim Corbin, or Butch Thompson.

I once read that Kentucky produces more Div. 1 baseball players than football and basketball combined !

Hahaha and our first choice in football is Nick Saban.

Corbin has been at Vanderbilt for 15 years. I highly doubt that he jumps ship now after making Vandy into a powerhouse. Similarly, McDonnell had been at Louisville for over a decade. Neither of them have a tie to Miss. State. Thompson seems like a possibility, but they also didn't think he was good enough in 2017 when they Canzannano.

I suppose Ming is a candidate, but I don't think he's the type to jump ship after two years. It seems like he genuinely loves being here. And again, they could have hired him as one of their own assistants rather than Andy.

McDonald might want a way out of the Louisville cesspool. He seems like a decent competitor, not the normal Louisville jerk.

Lexington holds up nicely to Starkville, now that he has the baseball team rolling there few advantages for MSU.

I suppose it depends on the type of person you want to be. McDonnell is Louisville baseball. They are not and have not been anything without him. So, is he one that wants to be the face of a program that was nothing before him, or does he want to be the person who goes in and is another coach in a long line. Of course, you could be the first MSU team to actually win a college world series instead of to just go to one. I suppose that would make you a legend there. Still, it was John Cohen that got them to the finals of the CWS where they finished second, and I don't really think they consider him a legend there, so who knows.
