So Miss kickoff set for 7:45 et

Good, so we won't have to sit in the blistering heat for a nooner. but what's with the time creep going even later than a 7:30 game? new TV arrangements I guess. But really glad they made a rule of only two noon games per year for teams. That really sucked and screwed with our tailgate menus last year.

Think I read S Carolina and Georgia are night as well? On ABC.
SC is at 3:30, UGA is at 7:30. The listing said ABC, but I wonder if they just mean an ABC affilliate like one of the ESPN channels and that which network hasn't been decided yet. if it's ABC That's great national TV exposure, unless they're doing regional games.

Nope, it's actual ABC. ABC owns ESPN, and they now have the SEC contract.

I understand ESPN is going to stagger starting times of multiple games in the near-same time slot.

Other week 1 tv times, getting fired up, not too far away!!!

Clemson vs Georgia 12 pm est ABC
Penn St @ WVU 12 Fox (unofficial)
Miami (fl) @ Florida 3:30 ABC

LSU vs USC 7:30 Sunday ABC

If USC and Riley show up. Riley is still running from SEC, tried for 2 years to get out of this game. He and Kelly have the same agent and even used that to try and get LSU dropped.

I got an email from the UK ticket office that the UGA was also a 3:30 kick off(?)

Stoops always plays the OOC scrubs close for some reason. 10-14 point game, IMO.
i was curious about this and looked it up. For the last 20 non-conf, non-bowl games, UK is 20-0 (which is pretty dam good). During that time, UK averaged 39.75 points to 15.4 points. A difference of 24.35 points.

Which makes me wonder ... is that the analysis the bookies are doing?!?

Take out the Louisville beat downs and the margin will shrink a bit. While we could consider UL a scrub, I was referring more so the MAC level teams we play.

EKU has played us very close the last three times, and should’ve won back in 2015 to be honest. Was it UT Chattanooga that had us in a very precarious spot in the 4Q in 2021?

I don’t know why but it just seems like Stoops’ teams have always had a hard time showing up for these type of games.

It looks like UK stinks up 1 gimme per year and that is what sticks out in our mind. But the other 3 look like they are mostly blowouts. JMO

EDIT: without UL, the average is 38.5-14.7 (23.8) WOW! mind blown lol.

LoL it will make heads explode on here if we are up 20 in the 3rd and the O just does half back dives up the middle the rest of the night....but Vandagriff stays in and takes 100% of the games snaps

It's not like west coast people can watch west coast conf games anymore. LOL.

I believe everybody knows the fix is in with the 7:45 kickoff time. Southern Miss at serious disadvantage, I predict game time kickoff in the low 40’s and falling with sideline heaters and warming stations inside the stadium for the fans. Kentucky will roll the eagles 🦅 🍺

It is probably my SEC bias, but I'm very confident LSU ragdolls USC on opening Sunday night

Since ESPN/ABC controls the entire package they are staggering the start times, so there is less overlap, especially at the end of games. Also, you'll notice the 12:45p ET slot, would seem to be an accommodation to all the central time zone teams' fans, so they aren't kicking off at 11am local time.

It is the ABC, so nationwide network coverage while we beat the Cocks week 2!

That's likely one of around a 100 data points.

Nice data grab. It's interesting how some folks remember the bad things like that is the norm, when it clearly isn't.

If all goes according to plan, I should be on overnight ferry between Lerwick, Shetland Islands and Aberdeen, Scotland around kickoff. Ship has WiFi. Perhaps I can follow along if I'm not sleeping.

Go Big Blue!
You can watch the recording on the ESPN app, "On Demand" tab shortly after the game ends. Just avoid social media and watch it when you wake up.

Man, hope we destroy them. I’m counting on a win but trying to temper my enthusiasm until I see Vandagriff and this new offense. I’m not as concerned as I have been about the o-line with our new blocking scheme and if Vandagriff plays at that 5* potential and we develop a solid running game then this could be a really good season.

I certainly understand the trepidation given how Leary didn't live up to the hype and Levis' injury/Scangarelo disappointment, but I fully expect this to be a breakout year. Arguably Stoops' best team and the offensive scheme should be more conducive to college players with an OC who schemes to fit the players and what they can handle. I'll probably bet the under in some of the early non-conf games and even USCjr, as the offense gets their sea legs, but I see a 7 win floor with an 8 win likely and a couple of close ones in the toughest 4 games.

There's usually a couple that stay real tight in the first half then we have a big surge in the 3rd or 4th quarter to finally allow us fans to breathe a sigh of relief. Then we always have one where we destroy them. That will be Murray St. this year.

What ticks me off is the bend don’t break defense that breaks and lets the lesser team score first. Then we are forced to play from behind at least the first half.

Low 40's on August 31? It'll still be in the 70's -80's when that game kicks off. Those first 2-3 games are usually blistering hot when they're held during the daylight hours.

Two things I want to see.
Avoid the annual SECclunker to a team we should beat, Like a Vandy, SC or Florida this year.
Finally get a huge upset like the win over LSU in 2007. A real feel good game to put us on the map.
