Not many Sports Center highlights today, but we were brutally effective nonetheless.

UF played 30 minutes of really good D, but we never showed even the slightest sign of nerves. It was so much fun to watch us methodically pull away from them over the course of the second half. By the end of the game, it was clear they had given up.

We still have some areas we can work on before the tourneys begin, but it sure feels nice to be going into them as the prohibitive favorite to win it all.

Go Cats!!!

Exactly. Took 6 3-pointers today. Team plays steady and under control. Incredibly disciplined.

Dep,
Agreed. The ability to play so many different ways against so many different tactics can only serve us well as we head into tourney play. Play fast and we'll outplay you, play slow and we'll ultimately wear you down. Let's hope the trend continues.

Us "old farts" ( I consider myself one, after seeing 40+ years of Big Blue basketball) have seen a lot of good and great teams in UK history, but I think Dep nails it with this post.

In my estimation, I really don't think I've ever seen a UK team more confident, more relentless, just methodical and posied in all situations. At the very least, they're right there with the great UK teams in this regards. I cannot say any other team had it more than this edition of our Cats'.

We just wear teams down, and I think the SEC is one of the most athletically gifted conferences in America. The SEC has a lot of teams, while, not overly great with basketball talent from top to bottom on their rosters, the teams are (at least, and by-and-large) very athletic. To see these teams simply wear down is a testament to our team. It's going to be very interesting to see how teams can handle the fatigue that will inevitably set in come tournament play, both SEC and in the big dance.

Man, 31-0 feels great, doesn't it?

Go Big Blue !

Ditto, runt..from an old guy, too.
These guys are "COOL CATS".
They remain cool under all circumstances to date.

That's the name I have given them. It seems to me very fitting.

Go Cats.

We are about to start grinding out out victories with defense and half court offense.....like last years tournament. Not that we haven't been doing it already, but I think we are about to take it to a whole new level.

Agree and good post. The only thing that drove me crazy today was how they let Hill get in the lane so much. Gotta shore that up.

Yeah. Outside of stopping the dribble penetration on occasion I thought our D was incredible again this afternoon.

Got to fix that though. Outside of round one, every other team we will face will be able to exploit it if we don't.

I'm not so sure this team isn't really challenged until the Elite 8 this year. If they show up like they should.

I told my wife to watch the Florida players jump after the 8 minute mark. They had no legs left and the rest was history. When Booker hit the 3 just took the air right out of Florida.
