I see the Twin Spires lit with red lights tonight and I understand why. However, I remember that when UK was playing Louisville, instead of having them lit blue or even 1 blue and 1 red, they were both red.

What's going on with that?!?

I'm thinking it's because Churchill Downs is in Duh Ville and there's a fairly large tard population in Duh Ville.

Since you can see the stadium from Churchill I'm sure they are just playing the part of good community citizen.

I thought for last years basketball game, they had one red and one blue lit. I think the OP may be mistaken.

Not paranoid at all. Remember, I don't consider Louisville much of a rival to UK at all. I was just curious because, as others have mentioned, Louisville is in Kentucky and UK is the state school. Churchill Downs always used to support everything Kentucky, I just wondered if that changed recently for some reason.

Maybe they can show unity with UL by putting ugly uniforms on the race horses.

I don't know if there is any reason to be upset. I believe traditionally Churchill Downs would light one spire red and the other blue prior to games, and then the would display the winner's colors after the game. Last year they just started red. Not a huge issue by any stretch, but there didn't really seem to be any reason for the change in tradition.

From what I remember, the people at UK & Churchill Downs are not on the best of terms as of late.

It'll probably change in a few years.
