So, did Shadeur fall because he's just not that great of a prospect or because of the circus that Deion will likely bring? Or both?

Wonder if Prime starts shooting his mouth off about Shedeur starting or Cleveland isn't a place he wants to play, etc.
Internet is forever... Cleveland may not be so welcoming.

In March 2018, Sanders said a quarterback who might be drafted by the Browns the following month should opt out — like Giants’ Eli Manning did when he was chosen by the Chargers in 2004.

Tweeted Sanders: "I love what the Browns have done this offseason, but if I’m a young QB, ain’t no way I’m going to Cleveland. I would pull a ELI MANNING if possible." He added a hashtag of “Truth.”

Uh, oh. Awkward

So tired of all the drama about him sliding in the draft. This is far from the worst thing this young man is going to have to endure in his life. Pass the salt....🙄
He needed the slide for a dose of humility. When you go into interviews dictating how things are going to be, you need a dose of reality. The kid has ability, how it translates to the NFL, we will see. You don’t throw for over 14,000 yards and 134 TD’s in college without some level of ability. But his sideshow is really what needs to be put in check.

And the two articles I read about grading every team's draft had multiple pictures of Shedeur. Surely, a fifth round QB isn't worth all that hype. I thought he was a good college QB. Not great. Not obviously gifted enough to be a great NFL QB. NFL GMs evidently saw the same thing. Being an a$$ during job interviews when every potential employer will talk to the others, the mouth/baggage associated with his dad - Not exactly a big surprise he fell like a rock.

The Browns are a complete mess. Watson, if healthy, is the best talent they have. Flacco is way too old. Pickett is at best a career backup. Gabriel is most likely too small and not physically gifted enough to overcome his stature. Sanders could be a pretty good player or a head case who poisons the locker room. Browns fans better prepare to have a really high draft pick again next year.

Out of the five QB's on Cleveland's roster, Sanders is the most likely one to be cut. No one even keeps three QB's.

Falcons’ DC Jeff Ulbrich’s son, apparently, found Sanders’ phone number & made the prank call. It’s a cruel joke, but, I still have a hard time feeling pity for ppl as arrogant as the Sanders’. They could use the humility, TBH.

If his last name wasn't Sanders, he would have zero media attention and wouldn't have been drafted at all. The hype was completely generated by his name.

I think he starts the season #2 behind Flacco. I am not sure Watson will be ready for the start of the season. Kenny Pickett is not very good. Gabriel I do not believe the Browns have any faith in him, or they would have tried to fix another need beside drafting Sanders. Like you said no way a team keeps 5 QBs on the roster, and you know Watson is not going to be cut. Flacco if nothing else will backup Watson if Watson is ready week 1.

You must not follow the Browns news all that closely if you think Watson is anything but toast in Cleveland. He probably won't be cut because of the cap, but he'll be on the injury list. They're not going to want to cut either rookie if they can avoid, so Pickett is probably going to be the odd man out, unless he outright wins the job as starter.

Agreed. Im a little late to this discussion but Shedeur has "not an NFL QB" written all over him.

He has one very good facet to his game. He is very accurate. After that he has a lot of average to bad facets.

He's only 6'1"

He lacks speed

He is not an elite athlete. He's closer to average

He lacks a strong arm

He holds the ball too long

He isn't great in his checkdowns

His football IQ seems to be barely better than average

I just don't see where he can be a decent, let alone good, NFL QB with those factors. He ended up drafted where he should have been. They may have even been a bit generous with the 5th round.

His name won't protect him in the NFL.

I didn't realize this but 35% of his pass attempts last year were at or behind the LOS. No wonder his completion % was so high. Yet, he still took more sacks than one would expect when 1/3 of your passes are coming out quick sideways. NFL probably looked at that stat and wondered if his game translates to the pros at all - hence the rapid fall.

The draft is a crap shoot. Look where Tom Brady and Purdy were drafted.
