Usually the Newspapers down here will spew a lot of " hot" recruiting news if UT has a successful weekend, especially if they can steal a recruit from another program.
And they really go bonkers if UT can steal one from Kentucky.
So far, not a peep that I have been able to find on the weekend visitors.
BUT!! They also LOVE a couple of signing day surprises if they can flip a committed recruit, so that may be what is going on here.
They need a positive boost in the program right now. A WR flip on signing day. could provide them some juice.

People who don't live in the region covered by the TN sports media don't realize what lapdogs they are. After about 10 failed attempts they finally got themselves a TE, a guy from Notre Dame that caught like 12-15 passes for less than 150 yards last year but he'll become the second coming of Bowers before it's all said and done. Don't have a clue what Rodriguez will do, KY sports media is too busy counting how many first round NBA draft picks UK will have to inquire.
Tony Basiliio's blog this morning said that he did indeed take the visit and had a lot of fun. Those guys wouldn't be wrong on whether a visit actually occurred.

If Basiliio is correct, then this is probably a signing day flip. UT fans will celebrate like they won the lottery.

I just read the latest article on Vols Insider about weekend recruits/ transfers.
Absolutely no mention of WR even being on campus.
So, he either turned them down cold ( which is very possible) or, he is one of their signing day surprises.
I think I'm going to throw up.
What little I've read about them is they're pretty much up against it numbers wise with a few other higher rated guys at other positions they're after. We'll see.
That $8M NIL deal they gave to their freshman QB has come back to haunt them with the other players on the roster who are actually PLAYING and CONTRIBUTING to the team.

Seems they backed off a portal TE when Dingle dropped from the portal. Anderson, Kattus, Dingle, and LeMaster probably don’t put them in a panic just to sign a TE. Rodriguez would fill that room well, especially if he thinks he can have an Anderson-like impact next season.
They had reached out to 2 TE's when news broke about Dingle to the Portal and both he and WRod visiting Knoxville together.
UT signing the Notre Dame TE on Friday before their weekend visit left one of them out of the UT picture.
I suspect Dingle read the room pretty good and came back....or UT let him know up front they were no longer interested in him.
Was about to post the same thing. I’m fairly confident Rodriguez stays with the Cats….
