After reading posts on here I honesty did not realize he left for the same position at another school. I've kind of been out of the loop , and thought he was leaving for a promotion.

First. What do we really now about this guy? Sounds like the guy had a rep as a recruiter. But who has he actually landed for Pitt that made you say he is a great recruiter?

Second. Was the guy a great player development guy? I've always heard Paynes name . Not Slice.

In my opinion when Barbee came in Slice was put a place down. Slice left because of competition he could not compete with.

That's on him. UK and Cal have high expectations. if he feels like a small fish in a big pond . Then more power to him at a small pond . And landing 1 5 star every few years is a success.

And you would be wrong in your assessment. You are correct about being out of the loop.

Clueless.

He got a substantial raise and will be Mullins , John Robic . Plus he got to go home . Makes perfect sense to me .

You are way off..

Tip of the day: if you want the respect of your peers, and don't know about something, don't just make stuff up to throw at the wall and hope it sticks. Otherwise, proceed with nonsense.

He had the chance to move back to his hometown area and coach under Chris Mullin, a friend who needed his help(recruiting pull). For 450k a year. His choice, he made it. We live with it and move on...

Bought tickets from a scumbag that grew up with him, and they're friends. If he's anything like his friend.... Good riddance.

UK Should of had a No-Compete CLause in his contract.

that way, any property he recruited for UK would be hands off!!!!

Happens in the real world anyway.....

I'd prefer Cal just beating Slice's tail on the recruiting trail and watching St. John's and Mullin scratch their head in confusion at the failure of their $450,000/year investment.
