Skal should not start

Far and away the biggest bust that UK has had. Hands down. it isn't close.

He def should not start. He should back up Lee. Poythress should back up Willis.

Ullis
Briscoe
Murray
Willis
Lee

Poythress
Skal
Matthews
Hawkins
Humphries

I love the kid. But we simply can't continue to give him minutes when he had 2 points and 5 rebounds for the game and shoots 1 of 7 from the field. .

Maybe cal needs to start hiding him until the draft?

In all seriousness the issue is if we don't play him he isn't leaving. I'm curious to see how Calipari handles this.

Could anyone seeskal trying to D up the D league, let alone the NBA? He would be slaughtered nightly. What's cal gonna do? There's no way his stock is staying high.

No way potential factor my ass.

Skal is so inexperienced--the fact he's missed most of JR year and the mess his people made by not having him play much last year--he's basically coming into UK with AAU experience in the last 2+ years. I'd actually look to fact that Skal has nobody to teach him how to fight in the frontcourt--Lee has contributed but is he tough? He flakes out now and then. Poythress biggest issue is inconsistency, and others are all in Skal's shoes as far as being first year players.

Skal may need more time-but I'd get him away from basket and quit forcing the post play on him due to his frame--get what UK/Cal are doing but he's not strong enough--let him play away and in transition--I'd play him on wing and Briscoe in post-because Briscoe does nothing for offense being outside the paint-he's not a threat.

Also-if worst case scenario is Skal has to return--which I'm not saying will happen--but it could--he'll have a few guys who are warriors/alpha males in the frontcourt (Gabriel is thin--but he is a warrior) and Bam Adebayo is what everyone would love in terms of competitiveness.

They say he is only here for 1 year and that's it. I like the kid and he seems like such a nice person, but I don't see him even being REMOTELY successful at any level in the pro's and that includes overseas.

He is the poster child of someone that needs another year.

Hump, willis, or Tai should be taking his spot, and it baffles me why Cal's not giving them Skal's minutes. They may not score a lot, but they can rebound and play a little defense at the very least. I've never seen a 6-11 kid who couldn't rebound a ball. I don't mean to pile on the kid, but he's really hurting this team right now. I hope he can get better, but right now I just can't see it. To soft. to timid. to hesitant and slow to react. I'm convinced we win this game today if Hump had Skal's minutes.
