SIAP- Joey Couch passes. RIP

Joey and I did a radio show on Sunday Mornings with Alan Cutler. Joey was a great football player and also was quite of a basketball player out of Paintsville. He and John Pelphrey took their high school team to the Sweet Sixteen. The one thing that I remember about Joey was that he was a nice person that made you feel his equal. He brought me posters signed for me and Cutler during our last show. We were on the air together for 8 months and I was sad that the show ended. It was a lot of fun to talk to the BBN.

I pray for his family to have peace and understanding. God Bless them........
I loved watching Joey play, he was one of my favorites , actually all of them were, but he was just that special player I enjoyed watching.... Rest in peace Joey............You will be missed by all........

I met this dude at the UT game around Halloween a couple years ago,....met him on the spiral ramp on the corners of the stadium and when he introduced himself and I found out it was him it made me like him all that much more. Just Eastern Kentucky to the core and a good old boy through and through.

He spoke highly of Kash Daniel and his people , and he Bragged on Jason Leger and several other mtn. players. I told him how our family always kept up with the boys from the mountains and that's why we were huge fans of his as well as another Couch from them hills. Woulda hung out all night if we'd had more in the flask.

Truly saddened by this news and will always remember what a good representative he was for our people. I know he will be truly missed.

Sad news.
I was at UK when Joey was there playing. Our Haggin Hall team played the football team in an intramural game one day. The football players were killing us and playing very physical. Of course the ref wasn't calling any fouls because you just can't call fouls all day in intramural games, so I was getting frustrated and looked at the ref and said, "you need to start calling some fouls because someone is going to get in a fight out here." Joey looked at me and said, "who's going to get in a fight?" I said, "well, not me, um, no I'm not going too." LOL! RIP Joey.

Sad. Too young. Always admired his effort and passion. Played hard all the time. Think he was #48 at NG? Im sure he was a great friend and team mate. Wish the best for his family.
