I tell you what, I know Herro can jaw and be a little annoying, but had Thompson done that anywhere else but a basketball court his thug ass would've been in jail. I mean, he really threw Herro.
He did and you’re absolutely right. Yet, Herro still made zero effort to get back at him after it happened. He’s definitely not a fighter.

Just saw the clip on ESPN page. You could tell Herro didn't want to get back into that scrum. You can see him looking down and something in his brain warning him he ain't about throwing hands, lol.

Also, what was Thonpson yelling at Herro at the end? 🍿

Also, Rockets are showing some real toughness this year and into last. They're playing a bit like teams of the 80s and 90s, and thats actually good for basketball (So long as it's somewhat contained and doesn't escalate). Don't **** with them, or our coach might come for your head also.

This is a ridiculous statement.
I knew 2 guys that got punched and went down and hit their heads. Both of them died never woke back up. Both were around 18 years old. If Herro had landed bad he could have been seriously hurt. Glad he bounced back up.

Yeah. I’ve seen plenty of people get knocked out and hit their heads. It can be tough. That’s a mile away from what went down here and saying he could have been paralyzed is as likely as him walking out in the parking lot and getting hit by lightning.

Disagree from what he did there. Truly could have been an injury that paralyzed Herro.
Paralyzed? LOL

It's funny how standards have changed on this stuff. In the 80s scraps like these happened constantly, nobody ever got paralyzed, nobody made that big a deal out of it, often there weren't even any ejections ...they just shot the technical fouls (and maybe paid a small fine) and moved on.

But not in today's age when folks are looking for any excuse to dramatically overreact.

No he wouldn’t let’s not exaggerate. I’m a proponent of more physicality in the nba. Make these small guys earn it and bring back guys who can play basketball rather than chuck 3s. Nba took a crap a long time ago partially because of how feminized it’s become. That was weak tbh

It’s all about risk analysis. I am sure Herro analyzed the situation and was like “I can’t take him” and decided not to retaliate.

I know a few people whose mouths seem to think they can take everyone, and those are the ones who usually end up taking Ls.

Herro went out like a little bch. He tries to act like he’s so tough. Got punked in front of all of those people. Thompson may as well rubbed his nuts on herro’s face
Always time to get payment later. If not he can live with it. And he will. Time and time again. Better to get payment imo.

Herro went out with the W after he torched houston. That’s what this was really about. Thompson was frustrated that Herro had just worked them all game.

And now Thomspson is probably looking at a game suspension and Herro isn’t.

Thompson’s a real tough guy. But a real stupid guy too.

Herro is basically carrying the Heat right now. Bam hasn’t been all that great this season. And Butler hasn’t been playing i guess because he wants out.

Herro should make his first all star game.

He also knows he's valuable to his team. Probably thought that too.

Yeah, the would earn you an ejection in the 80's. You don't just throw people to the floor like it's WWE. Now some shoving and grabbing? But fights became a serious thing the NBA looked at in the late 70s because even fans were starting to get involved in them; like walking out on to the court and challenging players to boxing matches.

The other issue has become every scuffle has become a bench clearing even because everyone has to be "hard". A bunch of millionaires acting tough. It's no wonder NBA ratings are down.

Go try that on the street to someone and explain to the officer how that isn't assault/battery and why you shouldn't go to jail. I agree it's not a "life threatening" thing, but nonetheless it is and you would be heading to the pokey.

Amen Thompson is not a thug lol
Throwing someone to the ground because they maybe said something to you or are basically owning you on skill (and Herro was) is the very definition of being a punk/thug.

You have no clue what you’re talking about. Worse shit than this occurred with no ejection all the time in the 80s. I witnessed it many times. As just one example, do you know what Robert Parish’s punishment was for doing this in the 87 Conference Finals:

Answer: NOTHING. No ejection, no suspension, I don't think even a technical. The refs just treated it like a foul and moved on. It's like they just shrugged and said "Well, you know Laimbeer had it coming...:"

Do you know what else you could once get away with? Attacking the fans. Everybody acted like it was the end of the world when Ron Artest did it in 04, but nobody thought it anything to be concerned about when Cedric Maxwell did this in the 81 Conference Finals:

Do you know what Maxwell's punishment was for that? No ejection. No suspension. Just a $2500 fine. Play on. If he did that today, people would be screaming for him to be banned for life.

Well, I stand corrected. I've slept since then.

Just because it happened didn't make it better either. I'm all about good physical play during the game, hell draw a little blood even. Throwing someone to the floor because they are torching you is such a punk move.

Shit,, got in a fight with a 21 year old dude few years ago at the mines and had to miss work for 3 days because he body slammed me.. Ended up with 2 different shoulder operations on my left shoulder.. Plus I'm too old to fight someone over half my age 😂

Damn man. Sorry to hear it. I remember how quick I was when I was young but that shit gone now.

Yeah, older I get the less often I wanna throw hands. Just too much crap- cops, lawyers, potential medical bills. For that it better be worth it. Most young kids get in fights over the dumbest crap. Just not wroth the investment.
