SI; Reed a Lottery Pick in Mock Draft

Kids IQ is just way advanced. Unlike many kids with elite BB IQs though, he is also very athletic.

I don't think he'll be a lottery pick, but it wouldn't shock me either. Kid is a 18-28 pick imo.

Is that ALL for this upcoming draft? Or is Reed 14th in the 2025 draft?

Because if Kentucky has 4 lottery picks, and Reed is THAT good/productive to show out enough to be a top14 pick, then we're going to be scary good. That would be the most talent of any roster by a good margin.

I mean that’s a clickbait rather ridiculous article if I e ever seen one.
Click bait-smick smate; why cant you realize those 4 are studs and we have 5 more in Dillingham, Reeves, Thiero, Ugonna and Mitchell?
We are no more the 17th best team in this country than the damn man in the moon!
Id settle for 7 right now just because its early but 17 is a smack in our big blue faces with this group.

So good that even Cal can't screw things up ?? Draft picks-Yes Championship- NO!

Cal's gonna have to prove to me he can win again. I no longer have blind faith. Used to, but no more.

There's absolutely nothing that makes me think we will win at an "elite" level this season, even IF we do have four lottery picks.

And yes, I know. I'm jaded as hell. A miserable fan, and all that other stuff. Can't help it.

I'd like to see him be that level. He certainly has the IQ and background. But he is just a freshman. And as we saw in one of the Canada games, he will have some head scratching performances.

Let's not put any more pressure on him than already is.

Nah, you're not jaded. You're at the point a lot of us are at. Put up or shut up with Cal. It's definitely time. He can't do it with what he's got right now? He never will again.

Best coach in college basketball will not screw anything up.

He beat our ‘96 team with 1 player and 4 ball boys.

Get your whine in now. Your picture will be on a milk carton once we’re rolling.

Seems like Reed may be that piece to the puzzle that's been overlooked for the most part, but ends up being the catalyst that propels us to bigger things.

Way to early for this kind of draft talk. We have not even played a game into this season yet. I know we looked good in Canada but let us see how well we do in real games against good teams.

When was the last lottery pick UK player that was also a Kentucky kid?
That kinda depends on how you define “Kentucky kid.”

D’Angelo Russell was technically from Louisville, but he spent his scholastic years and played his high school ball in Florida.

Does that still count?

The other caveat was someone who played for UK.

Maybe Derek Anderson but I can't remember where he was drafted but I agree it was probably Rex.
Good call. DA was drafted 13th, which I believe would’ve been the very last lottery pick at the time.

Told the board this after the Canada games and was once again laughed to scorn.

When will you guys learn that I know what the hell Im talking about?
Dude, your track record on predictions is literally below the mendoza line. It's laughable at this point. Like, SmoothAsButter laughable.

I disregarded that whole article the minute I read this.

Nothing would make Kentucky fans happier than to see Reed Sheppard, the son of former Kentucky basketball player Jeff Sheppard, taken early in the NBA draft.

Wrong. Kentucky fans are sick and tired of players leaving early. Especially when they leave after another disappointing season. Unless we win a championship (at this point), it will be just another failed season with wasted talent. We'll be back to the drawing board and rebuilding a team without the key players we expected to be here.

That article is NOT from a Sports Illustrated writer ... if it from the Fan Nation site they run. A little mis-leading.

Reed is going to be great. But no way is he going to be drafted that high after this year.
