After watching last night's game, it struck me just how well conditioned our players are. Oscar was flat out beating the S.C. team down the floor time and time again. I know he struggled in the first half but in the 2nd half he found a gear that none of the Gamecock players seem to have. That is the result of being in top physical condition. Kellan seems to have a full tank the entire game and does not appear to ever get winded. Davion is the same way as is Brooks. I want to give a BIG shout out to Robert Harris the S/C coach for the 'Cats. I know it takes a lot of desire and "want to" to get in top shape and maintain that level but a player also needs to be coached and pushed in getting to that level. He has done an outstanding job with these guys. I firmly believe this is going pay HUGE dividends for us in the post season. I have not seen too many BIG'S run the floor like Oscar and Brooks do. With Wheeler and TYTY always looking up the floor this does and will continue to give the other guys chances for some easy buckets. I had my doubts early in the season but the more they play the more excited I am getting about this team going forward. This team has all the pieces to make a deep run in the NCAA Tourney. Team match ups will be key as they always are. I just hope the injury bug stays away and all of the players can remain healthy come tourney time. I know one thing, team conditioning will not be an issue..

Good looking out.

Are they? Sounds like two names for the same thing.

But yeah I dont actually blame the S&C guy for this.
Yes.

Athletic trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who render service or treatment.

Strength and conditioning is for creating an exercise program to get guys in the best shape for their particular sport.

Wish our guys would bulk up more. Seems they don’t really gain much muscle but maybe I’m wrong about that.
Agreed but I think it’s also about how quickly many leave.

I’m too lazy but it would be interesting to post pics from Brooks’ freshman year until now. He’s our most tenured current player so would like to see how he’s progressed. Although I think he’s the kind of guy that will never really bulk up.

Yeah that’s what I’m talking about. Seems other programs turn the players that stay for a while into brick houses. Ware will be an interesting case study I reckon.

I was thinking about this factor last night too, even though I wasn’t thinking about the S&C coach per se. In the first half especially, our guys basically sprinted a marathon. That can’t be too awfully far from the limits of human ability.

Oscar runs the opponents into submission. It is a beautiful thing to watch.

The dudes who stay more than 1 year do transform their body IMO.

Nick, PJ was way more sculpted, Dakari got in great shape for year 2, Quickley was different body, etc...I think UK dudes put in plenty of effort in offseason to transform their bodies.....

True. Could all be in my head. Ha

I don't think it's in your head...but Cal wants a wiry strong athlete....not a bulky bruiser body. He likes sleeker builds mroe than body builder dudes. But at Purdue with Matt Painter....he's typically has bulky dudes with ripped bodies...but still more muscle.

Cal's style is longer and wiry build with some power but not a dude that looks like a pro wrestler. It's just his style

Toppin has put on good muscle in his arm, shoulders and chest. He’s one of the most noticeable. Oscar is much more cut than when he came here. Brooks hasn’t seemed to change much. Collins will add weight before next year hopefully, like Dykes said though, hope isn’t a plan lol!
