This was good for shepherd. He was ass and then had to get his shit together and basically bail the team out and lead them to a victory. This will pay dividends down the road. He has to have more of a killer instinct and maybe this game will be the catalyst

Love all the negative Nancy posts during the game that don't age well later in the game. You think some would learn but they never do. I've had doubts about Sheppard lately too but he was a star during the stretch run tonight. And, without his buddy Dillingham to help tonight. Proud of the kid.
Reed has to get 35 min per game. This team looks like a rudderless ship without him. I don't want to re-open the "Reed needs to start" can of worms, but this team starts off in the hole every game and it's eventually going to come back to bite us in a close one. JVC seems to be hoping he can make it to the under 16 before subbing him in, but today he was in with 17 and change.

We're past the point of "deserving to play" just because of a slow start. Sheppard isn't just some white kid from Kentucky. He's one of the best players in the nation, genius. He needs to be in the game. If he makes mistakes then he does, but he is smart, quick, and steady and he usually overcomes them. Cal's biggest flaw right now is his spastic subbing. He needs to settle this team down and get some consistency on the floor with his lineup.
How did you happen to single out Sheppard as the goat? With the team going 3 for 18 there were a lot of goats in that field. UK looked spooked as shot after shot clanged. You must have eagle eyes to single out one player in all of that.
Well if you watched the first half of this game and the whole game against South Carolina u should see where I'm coming from. I admit he played different in the second half of this game but the last 2 games plus the first half of this game Sheppard has not been good

When our team is playing poorly Shepherd is one of the few guys who can do something like get a steal breakaway or make an advance pass for a dunk that can get us easy buckets and change the flow of the game. Him Reeves and Mitchell are the 3 rocks of this team who have earned the longest leash and should be in the game if the team as a whole is playing poorly.
