Shai Alexander

Shai has had a recent growth spurt and appears to be still growing. Love these late bloomer guys - Going to be exciting to see him develop.

How does he compare to James Young, Doron Lamb or Devin Booker coming out of HS? Going to need a similar impact, most likely.

Don't have exactly from when they came out of high school but some measurement.

James Young: NBA Draft Combine: 6'6.8" with 7' Wingspan
Doron Lamb: NBA Draft Combine: 6'4.8" with 6'6.8" Wingspan
Devin Booker: Official College: 6'6.3" with 6'6.3" Wingspan

Anyone else see a little P.J. Dozier in his game?

I too would like to know this. I don't know anything about this kid outside of highlight videos. And he's money in those haha

Shai does not come close to any of those players. Hopefully he provides some solid backup minutes.

From what I've read he's more of a 1 than a 2. He's got great measurables for a guard which should help him be a really good defender. Quick, good driver, can finish around the rim with his length. Not a great shooter, but I don't think his shot is as broke as Briscoe's.

Seems like a guy we can use to backup 1-3 spots. Maybe he could help on defending the longer athletic 3s that always give us issues. At worst it will help him see over the defense as a huge 1 or bigger 2. Richards measurements are really impressive, anyone know what a 30" no step vert converts to for a two step vert? Highest on his team so very impressive. I expect a huge amount of progress throughout the season from Richards. I think he has a similar impact towards the end of the season as the big freshman from A&M. Legit 6'11" with what I'm assuming is at least a 35" step vert will be a load to handle blocking shots and on the boards. Any offense we get is a bonus, I think he will be able to develop one decently effective post move as the year goes on.

SGA-Plays like Andrew Harrison if you ask me. He doesn't blow you away with speed or athleticism. Hes big and he uses that to his advantage. Slow/Low release but he will be bigger than most players guarding him so it shouldn't hurt to much. Got that Doron Lamb type craftiness to his game. He seems to be a decent outside shooter in high school. I tend to think shooting numbers improve a little in college when these players don't have to create every shot off the dribble and can spot up.

That would make him about four inches taller than PJ Washington, according to people dogging him on the McDonald's game thread.

Any word on PJ's official measurements?

i haven't seen the update from the USA team side. Only the international side. At least on draft express.

Also, PJ isn't playing in hoops summit, so probably wait till Jordan Brand Classic. I think he is playing in that.

I think this is a good summary. He's definitely not the most gifted athlete from the things I've seen but he does seem smooth like Doron. His shot is more of a set shot than a jump shot as he barely gets off the floor at all.

He shot 31% from 3 this season so I'm not sure we should be expecting much from him there. I believe he shot 56% from 2 which shows me he takes good shots.

Be awesome if he's seven ft by next fall!

The next AD?

I would definitley change my assessment of him.

I have only seen him a couple of times, but his ball handling was not great, weak left hand, thus not smooth going that way.

Wasnt impressed with his jumping ability either.

The kid obviously has some skill though or Florida and UK wouldnt take him.

I hope he shows out and I end up looking like my brother @caneintally

He has a ton of upside, especially with added strength, but I have my doubts on him being able play much pg next year.
