Selection Sunday CBB games on TV

I feel like Kentucky always seems to choke away an easy road to the final 4, we’ve seen it happen numerous times in previous years. So part of me hopes the are faced with an uphill battle because this team does play at its best against good competition

So will Illinois get down double digits and come back again? Home game for Wisconsin it seems. Looks like Purdue fans saved their coin for the NCAA Tournament.

This was the best Ivy has ever been as far as depth with the top 3 teams all being so good........yet it is Brown who is going to go Dancing ?

Brown had led by 6 points with 27 seconds left. Yale then got an AND 1 you are up 6 JUST LET HIM GO.

That cut it to 3. Then Brown makes 1 out of 2 FT's and then Yale hit a 3 point shot on the fly to cut it to 1 with 14 seconds left before the 2 fateful FT misses leading to the Yale buzzer beater win.

Watching these coaches halftime interviews are refreshing after the clown show were used to.

You see something like that happen to your teammate how hard can you really push yourself to be 100% committed to winning the game. Would be extremely hard.

Auburn has some unlikable players. Puts me in mind of the UF Noah teams.
Yes they do. I'd still like to see them beat Florida, to shut up Dykes about how good the Gators are. lol

Auburn is the only team in the nation ranked TOP 10 both Offensively and Defensively. Remember that when filling out your brackets

Auburn played 31 regular season games and had 1 quad 1 win.

They play 3 tournament games get 2 more quad 1 wins and nearly a 3rd (South Carolina at 51 needed to be 50)

To me that's still a 4 seed resume.

The way this week went I dont think much changed n the top 16.

They may give an overrated Illinois team a 3 but that would be a mistake.

I think they do give Illinois a 3 just because they were the only team to not crap the bed.

That still would leave one 3 seed left for 1 of

Kentucky, Duke, Kansas and Auburn

So metrics say Duke
Early season resume says Kansas but they faded hardcore but that is not supposed to be considered but their injuries should be
Kentucky late run but metrics hate us
Auburn tourney run how much does it really matter ?

We are about to find out who is that last #3 in a couple of hours.

Too bad Ohio State couldn't get the job done they got reffed over in that one (and that isn't my Ohio St bias talking) 27 fouls on Ohio St, 13 on Illinois and their star Shannon had a couple times would been his 4th and wasn't called.

If Kentucky is a 4 these are the likely 13 seeds

Samford, Yale, Vermont, Charleston (Maybe UAB if they use NET ranking vs quality of team UAB would be a 12 or 13 but probably a 12)

If Kentucky is a 3 these are the likely 14 seeds

Akron, Oakland, Morehead St, Colgate

Pretty big difference in quality of opponent but the 12 seed line is pretty tough so thank god not going to be a 5

2 hours to go before selection show, but I've been watching Bracket Matrix off and on this weekend and we are close to having a good idea who the 13s might be (Bracket Matrix is usually pretty close to dead on due to the compilation of 100+ different online bracket predictions).

Yale (just won Ivy League tourney)
Charleston
Vermont
UAB (in final now but leading a 16-19 Temple 24-18)

Because there might be some minor shifts to 13 from a 12 or 14, here's who everyone collectively says are the projected 12s and 14s:

12:

Grand Canyon
Duquesne
McNeese St
Samford

14:
Akron
Oakland
Morehead St
Colgate

If the committee doesn't like any of the 13s I listed above, they have a couple of others to choose from for storylines and/or competition that would create a challenge for UK:

McNeese St - of the teams above, they are ranked highest offensively at #51 (KenPom) and are better than UK defensively at #84.
Morehead St - obvious reasons, but they are not going to be much of a challenge offensively (124) or defensively (120).

My bet is that McNeese will be our 13 because statistically the other eleven teams that could be a 12, 13 or 14, most are 58th or higher offensively and well beyond 70 defensively.

Yes, directly from Bracket Matrix. But we know the committee likes to shift a few here and there to favor matchups and storylines in the first round. They can't control anything beyond that, obviously, so the first round is where they make their mark.

One of this year's phenomenon is with all the bid stealing this may very well be the first time the teams in Dayton will be moving to the 10 line instead of the 11 or 12 line.

Oregon and NC State are likely to be 11 seeds not 10 seeds as they would not have got at large bids so that would push up the last 4 into the 10 seed. They could always opt to just go Oregon/NC ST in the 10 line as well and push Dayton to the 11 line. We shall see in 2 hours.
