Second Undergrad transfers getting denied

I think everyone should get 1. If you wanna move on again, sit out, or become a grad transfer.
I have no problem with instant transfer if a coach moves on, but giving them free license to transfer on a whim is killing the sport.

Heck, let them keep the NIL. That's the way this thing evens out. You can even let a kid get NIL during his transfer year. But instant transfer is too knee-jerk and it's been impossible for coaches to build up any type of roster cohesion during this era.

Yeah, true. I get both sides. I'm still siding with the athlete first. These coaches make millions and can come and go as they please. Tell them to deal with it.

I think it’s just creating a ton more parity. And it’s more difficult to keep home grown talent. Wouldn’t go as far to say it’s killing the sport as the last 2-3 years have been far more entertaining top to bottom than the few years prior to that in my opinion. As blue bloods we judge the sport based on blue bloods being good. Think outside of us most prefer when a lot of teams are good.

The best players to go after in this new era are the Bryce Hopkins guys. Players that were ranked up there as high schoolers and didn't translate as freshmen, or guys that blew up at smaller schools as freshmen, so then you get them for Yr 2-4. Guys like Menifield for Arkansas, Kel'El Ware for Indiana, or Skyy Clark at UL are good examples.

If you want to transfer, you have to sit out for a year.. or maybe at least a semester. The players need to have some skin in the game. I'd be OK if they wanted to granted a 1-time immediate transfer, but then that would be it. Or you can transfer as many times as you'd like, but there's a wait period. Something needs to be put in place so kids/players can't just run away anytime they aren't happy.

I'm also very tired of hearing the comparison to coaches leaving. Coaches can get fired at will and lose their actual employment. Players, more or less, can't. Even if they somehow were so bad that they got cut from the team, they are still getting the education and have scholarships given to them up until that point.

Also, coaches moving every year doesn't ruin the sport. What WILL ruin the sport is if coaches can't field a team because every year they lose 5-6 guys who simply found a better situation for them. You can have coaching turnover, but you can't have this level of player turnover..
