Well, the week is over and it was another rough one. UK sits alone at the bottom of the SEC rankings at 0-6. Suprisingly, USC and Florida are just above them at 1-5 each. Georgia, TAMU and Arkansas are on top of the table at 5-1.
LSU lost 2 of 3 to Georgia
Florida got swept by Vanderbilt
Tennessee took 2 of 3 from South Carolina
Missouri took 2 of 3 from Ole Miss
Arkansas took 2 of 3 from Alabama
Miss. State took 2 of 3 from Auburn
Kentucky lost 2 of 3 against TAMU
Kentucky sits dead last in the league in ERA at 5.06. A lot of the numbers aren't the worst, but the important one is. UK gets a lot of strikeouts they aren't necessarily any more susceptible to extra base hits than others, but we just seem to give up hits at the wrong times.
Hitting isn't much better at .262, which is second from last behind only South Carolina. Kind of similar, but as you would expect, strikeouts are also second highest in the league.
As a glutton for punishment, I looked at SEC stats only...
UK hitting .206 as a team. We have 43 hits and 75 strikeouts with just 26 walks.
ERA is 7.79 and opponents are hitting .309 against us. We have struck out 50 and walked 27 while giving up 71 hits.
Amazingly, Marsh and Thompson have ERAs under 2.60, but we can't find a consistent enough bullpen to be successful. Ramsey with a 36.00 ERA. Harper and Macciocchi up over 10.00.
I'm sad now.
