That was a crazy 9th inning. Some of the worst late game base running you will ever see. TN had a guy on 3rd with nobody out needing 1 run to tie. Ground ball down the 3rd base line and the guy was too far off so the 3rd baseman was able to tag him out. Then the guy gets picked off first.
That was some series of events, a lead off double by UT, then Vandys' pitcher drops the ball for a balk to move UT runner to 3rd with no outs, and then the Vols make bad base running history........Wild !
Finals from today's 1st session.....Vandy 3 Tenn. 2 and Arky 4 T a&m 0. Tomorrow's match ups 1st session are good ones, Vandy vs LSU and Arky vs Ole Miss.
Georgia down 4-2 to Miss. State with 2 outs in the 9th, rallies to tie the game at 4-4. Going to the bottom of the 9th.
MSU edges UGA 5-4 in 10 innings. Todays matchups are ......LSU vs Vandy, Ole Miss vs Arky, UK vs Florida, and USC vs Miss. State. Looks like 4 very good games in store in Hoover today !
LSU run rules Vandy 11-1, game called in the 7th due to Tigers being 10 runs ahead. Never would have thought that would happen to the 'Dores !
If these teams need someone to come in and teach them how to run the bases, I'm available. From what I've seen they don't coach it. It's been terrible in this tournament.
Arkansas beats Ole Miss by a final score of 2-1. Hogs will take on LSU in one winners brackett game, while Ole Miss will face Vandy tomorrow morning in a losers brackett elemination game.
Ole Miss sends Vandy home by a 7-2 count. The Rebels will play the loser of the LSU vs Arkansas game tomorrow morning.
LSU thumps Arkansas 7-2, sending the hogs to face Ole Miss in an elimination game tomorrow @ 3:00 pm. Florida will face the loser of tonight's game between UK and MSU.
Arkansas comes back from a 6-0 hole to rally and knock out Ole Miss 8-7. Hogs will face LSU in the 1st semi final game tomorrow (Sat.). UK awaits the winner of Florida-Miss. State in 2nd semi.
Florida is up 3-0 in bottom of 4th. Both of theses teams have to beat us twice to our once because we have beat both of them right?
Unfornautely no, the semi-finals are single elimination, with the 2 winners advancing to Sundays' Championship game.
I would like to know what idiot came up with this format...It is totally unfair to the teams that are winning...How can you give teams that lose early another chance , but the teams that are the hottest are penalized ...
It isn't unfair because it's the same for everyone. If you lose then you have to play an extra game, use up more of you're pitching. If they played a full double elimination they would likely have to reduce the number of teams in the tourney or else add a few days else teams would end up having to use position players on the mound.
