I know comeback usually does this but I was curious where UK stood at the halfway point. Some key things stand out to me. These are conference stats only.

~As a team UK is hitting .253 as a team. Which is 7th best. Take Kessler out, and its .236. Which would be 11th. Interestingly enough, UT is 13th but is 10-5 in league play.

~UK is 8th in total hits but is 12th in doubles, tied for last in triples and 11th in home runs.

~UK is 11th in team ERA at 5.77.

~UK is 11th in strikeouts and 8th in walks. As a team, they have 122 strikeouts to 57 walks.

~Theyre 11th in the league in hits allowed.

~UK has allowed 17 home run while hitting 10 as a group.

~In 15 games, UKs pitching staff has allowed 95 runs against scoring 85.

~UK is 6th in fielding percentage while committing 9 errors.

These stats stick out to me because now UK is getting into the meat of the schedule. After Bama, its Florida, USC, UT and finishing at Vandy. Thats a tough spot. Thoughts??

Keep in mind those stats have come facing one top ranked team in the SEC (Miss St). I’m curious how bad they will be against FL, USC, TN, and Vandy factored in. I would be shocked if we aren’t in the bottom 2-3. I have no idea how you can justify not moving on after this season. Curious as to what others think.

So, because I love self abuse. I decided to look at overall stats. These are conference rankings. I need another drink.

~ UK is 5th in average but 12th in hits.

~UK has 325 total hits but only has 107 extra base hits.

~Kentucky has only walked 136 times compared to 289 strikeouts. In comparison, Arkansas has walked 224 times.

Pitching stats are a little better.

~UK currently sets 12th in team ERA and 11th in batting average.

~UK currently has struck out 338 batters to just 114 walks. But, has hit 50 batters.

~UK pitchers have allowed 281 hits. 93 of those have been for extra bases.

Im actually going to go a little deeper later this week. Wish me luck.

I'm curious about this as well. It'll be interesting to see where the teams mental state is after this weekend. You lose the series, it could get ugly. Especially if UK is swept. Win the series to get back to .500 then maybe you gain just a little momentum. Just to turn around and face probably the biggest surprise of the conference in South Carolina.
