Starting 2024 off with a bang. Some great OOC games the first three weeks. LSU gonna toy with USC-Los Angeles and UCLA. Alabama sticking it in Wisconsin. Texas and Michigan. Little Ten ain’t about that life.

Brian Kelly has had some slow starts to the seasons down there… wouldn’t be surprised if the defense isn’t ready and LSU drops one of those. But I expect Bama and Texas to take care of business

Love LSU getting after it in the OOC. Playing the LA twins is interesting. USC in Las Vegas is huge. That will be prime time.

Texas with Michigan, Oklahoma, UGA, plus the rest of their SEC schedule...may be the toughest schedule in all of CFB.

I'd vote for the 7+1 rotation, so everyone plays everyone more often. Piss on "3 rivals"

ESPN would never go for it, but Sankey should reduce the conference schedule to six or seven. Leave people salivating, wanting for more. The goal is to get five or six teams in the CFP. Can’t do that cannibalizing each other. Play other power fives in their place. A lot of these SEC schedules alone should be against the law. Whoever made Florida’s schedule should get the guillotine.

I think 8-4 is realistic. Losses vs UGA, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas.

Y'all have no idea how distracted and overlooking Texas will be the week before they play Texas a&m. See Alabama this yr Iron Bowl before SEC Champ vs Georgia.

It’s pretty even schedule in terms of the way it’s set up. Not front loaded like years past.

Southern Miss
USC (5-7)
UGA (12-1)
Ohio
Ole Miss (10-2)
Vandy (2-10)
Florida (5-7)
Auburn (6-6)
UT (8-4)
Murray St
Texas (12-1)
UL

Mizzou got a favorable scheduke. Their toughest games:

@ Bama
vs Oklahoma
@ Tamu

After that, I’m not sure, Auburn is the next toughest I think.

4-8 or 5-7 hope I’m wrong.
What’s making you think that as of now? Florida and Auburn are two games they need to win, you put in the 3 gimmes and then Louisville and you have 7 wins. Vandy is another game they should win. That leaves UGA, ole miss, Tennessee and Texas. I could see just about anything happening in those 4 games, but I would pick Kentucky to win any of them

If Brock vandagriff is anywhere near his original ranking we should be thinking a lot more than 6-6.

Personally, I think 3-1 every four game segment is very doable, last four being the toughest but we can’t keep losing to Tennessee forever… the key to this year is for stoops to not allow a loss to Georgia/tex/ole miss to derail us and luckily we have favorable non con/vandy placement

Also think the second set of four could be all possible wins and if so could be setting up for a special year if we don’t have the mental errors and giveaway games. We OWE ole miss a loss after giving away the last two. But this is all assuming the qb and wr are upgrades- and I think they are. And rb doesn’t seem like a massive drop either. Kudos to stoops for using the portal well so far.

10-2 gets to the playoffs with this schedule. 9-3 could be very close(#13 lsu this year) if it included a win at ole miss and we don’t take demoralizing losses where we are ran off the field within five minutes.

Also… we don’t have a 30 year losing streak to Texas or Oklahoma. There’s no reason to get up in hysteria when they’re on the schedule. Both programs have losses to worse programs than us within the last several years. We won’t have the black cloud of football curses when we line up against them and I expect us to compete well against them. Hopefully get Oklahoma at home the next season.

Still being played in Austin though.

Seen some opposite takes on twitter but I kinda like that we play Vanderbilt and Murray State out of the bye weeks.

Stoops has historically been poor coming out of byes, so probably better it’s two of the easiest games of the year in those spots. Also gives players extra time to rest and not rush back into either game as no individual player should be needed to still feel good about a win.

So in effect, the bye placement gives some players 2-3 weeks to heal and rest if needed between Ole Miss—Florida and Tennessee—Texas without missing any important matchups.

It will be a very long season if South Carolina at home is dropped. Cannot lose that game under any circumstance.
Schedule isn't that much different by how teams were this year. Mizzou out, ole miss in
Bama out, Texas in. Miss st out auburn in. Everything else the same.

Will Napier be Florida's coach when we go to Gainesville or nah

We played Ole Miss there last time, that should have been home game this time…off topic- Kiffen looks like he’s trying to load up on his Def line thru the portal- they’re trending to signing a 5 star and 2-3 4-star guys

Smart. It is how we are fixing recruiting misses at QB & WR. Portal is a fantastic way to plug holes for coaches like Kiffin & Stoops who know how to work it.

Another UK schedule bonus advantage: we host Auburn. The 3 games before us Auburn has Oklahoma at home, at Georgia, at Mizzou. We are their 4th tough opponent in a row, 3rd road game in a row. Might not have anything left in the tank fir lowly ole Kentucky.
