SEC quickly improving, top recruiting conference for 2017/2018

I think they made a good hires at Vandy and Florida.

Not sure the hire for Tenn was good. (always going after big names doesn't really work...i don't think)

South Carolina looks much better and i think Alabama will be excellent.

Not sure about Missouri. that coach seems to bounce around a lot.

Sexton and Petty for Bama are legit. Avery really has a good class. Counzo is a good coach and getting Porter and possibly his brother will be a huge boost.
ARK should be pretty good. Pearl had a very young team at AUB, they should be better. Not sure who UF or USC has coming in but I really like Martin and White. Two very good coaches. Drew had Vandy playing very well at the end of the season. SEC could be a war zone next year.

Strangely, this isn't really any different than any other year for the SEC. The conference continually brings in the top recruits at a rate higher than the rest.

That rarely equals success like you would think, though. Hopefully these newer coaches will be able to take advantage of the tremendous job the SEC does recruiting every year.

Getting rid of Johnny Jones will surely help down at LSU. How do you have such a mediocre season with the Ben Simmons, Antonio Blakely, etc team he had last year? Talk about wasted talent!

I don't follow recruiting as close as you guys but we have a pretty strong under the radar class coming in. We have 4 and they are across positions including another 7 footer. The kid Beatty out of Philadelphia is a strong as nails shooting guard and when he signed Frank said USC basketball j u st got a lot stronger. I think Frank was pretty happy because I got the feeling he pretty much got everyone he wanted. On top of that we have transfer from Delaware that was the 2nd rated transfer who averaged @ 18 points a game that will be eligible. Much will depend on whether Dozier comes back but I think we will be pretty good next year with depth at every spot

Sad thing is at the end of the year every conference win or loss will be factored in like we are the MEAC.

Yeah, they will totally disregard that we had 3 teams in EE this season

The SEC is steadily rising in basketball. It seems more schools have put a priority on getting good coaches and the talent level is rising. I think Tennessee will eventually get things right, but Rick Barnes inherited a horrible situation there after the Tyndall dismissal.

Alabama is really set up for success with 2 great guards coming in. As we all know, great guard play can take you pretty far.
