SEC:

1. Biggest story should be Arkansas winning a road game at UGA. It looked like the norm for ARK at half, but great 2nd half to win it.
2. Good win for UK tonight, they needed a close game and challenge. We have not all felt like this since the Wisconsin game in the Final Four...I forgot how awful a feeling it was in a close game, but we all remember and found out again tonight how great it was to win a close game.
3. Vandy beating Auburn...expected. Alabama killing A&M, expected that...this sets up A&M to play out their ass on Saturday in their home opener against UK. They scored like 44 tonight...geez.

Other Conferences:

Villanova blowing St. John's out late by 20-ish. St. John's and Washington are the early runners for biggest pretenders in college hoops. Providence with a huge road win at Butler tonight, so yay for one former opponent stepping up.

ISU and OSU won thrillers tonight...pretty good night of b-ball in the late night shifts after our game.

I tend to agree. They play at LSU this weekend so starting at an 0-2 start right away.

Arkansas, LSU and SC are probably the SEC's best hope for NCAA Tourney teams.

Arkansas is just on another talent level UGA is still damn good as the Seton hall win showed but i do think they need to win Saturday to stay on this side on the bubble for now . There like 5 teams battling for the 5th spot and UGA is my bet to get it . But who knows watch Vandy or someone get it .. I never thought USC would be good this year and look at them . Beating Iowa St was tremendous.

Let's not get absurd here Cane. Vandy has 0 chance at making the NCAA Tourney outside of winning the SEC Tourney. Their record is "cute" right now, but they will start to pile on losses when they play legit teams in the league like UK, Ark, LSU, UGA, etc. They really played a weak OOC schedule as well.

SC has to beat FL and then avoid a let down game at Ole Miss this weekend. We all saw tonight that won't be easy, but then again, after the tough loss to UK tonight Ole Miss may be due for a letdown as well. That game could go either way.

I do agree UGA is still a good team, but they have to start winning as you mentioned. Will they at LSU? I have my doubts, but let's see how LSU looks on Thursday first I guess. They are playing Missouri so they should win.

RE: Vandy, not really. They played Rutgers from the Big 10 (and lost). They played a good Ga Tech team and lost. They played a good Baylor team and lost by 3 at home. They killed Purdue from the Big 10. They also beat a decent name (St. Louis) on the road. That's 5 decent names, most from power conferences in the OOC. Not bad for a middling team like Vandy.

I myself believe SC is an upstart for sure. I'd add 'Bama to your list as well. Both of those teams, on the road are coming up soon. We're definitely going to see what they and our Cat's are made of.

Names do not mean much to me, but I do agree on paper it is ok for a middling team like Vandy. That said, the committee is not going to respect a win at St. Louis or Purdue. Plus, 2/3 of their losses are to non-tourney teams and a Baylor team that itself played a pretty weak OOC schedule so to be continued on how good they are.
