SEC Coaches talk anonymously about other teams

Since it was anonymous Stoops should have sent in one that said "UK's about to bust some tater this year in the East, they got some talent, some quality depth now, and the best coaches in the league.

Thanks, probably a more honest evaluation than you will normally get, and encouraging to me. Especially agree on Towles, I keep pointing this out because I think it is even more important to him in evading the rush (and running the ball) than a good forty time (and his is outstanding for a man that size) but he won the shuttle time at the Elite 22 that included a 5' 10" athlete among the competitors.

“They have some nice-looking skill guys and do a good job spreading the ball around, but you still have to get it done up front in this league to win big.” True, and I am pretty optimistic about improving on both sides of the ball. two big losses on D but a lot more talent and experience overall.

Some are decent, but I'd really like to hear the honest opinions. The opinions you hear on gameday when talking about the other team.

I mean, every one of those comments was positive and then had a question posed on what they can improve on or something that needs work.

Vanderbilt..."every Vandy opponent should be sorely disappointed if they don't dominate them."
Kentucky..."until they prove they can beat some of the SEC teams, even in years with good teams and those schools are down, we don't take them seriously."
Florida..."only the name on the jersey and the illusion of great talent, depth and speed is scary. All bark, no recent bite."

We could go on and on.

“It was tough to scheme for them because they change up what they do offensively week to week. They played at a real fast tempo. Neal Brown left (for Troy), so it’ll be interesting to see how they make the adjustment and how they deal with staff changes because they had pretty good continuity early on.”

“I really like Patrick Towles. He’s big and he’s more athletic than you think. He doesn’t get a lot of publicity because he’s at Kentucky, but I think he’s one of the better quarterbacks in the league.”

I wish that dumb SEC coach could've been informed that Towles didn't have enough zip on his passes and that Neal Brown didn't run the up-tempo offense he promised ..doesn't that dumb coach know that Neal Brown and Patrick Towles were the weakness on our team last year? He should've read this board last season so he could've been informed..it wasn't the defense or special teams or offensive line, it was Towles and Neal Brown, what's the deal with this guy praising those two?

Well a lot of people don't have the same opinion that you do about those two. Not having the talent and depth played a big part in how both performed last year, I don't think they were the only weaknesses we had.
