Looks like the SEC is having a down bowl year. Only win is a double OT will against a 6-6 Kansas team. Lets hope we at least get a W for the conference.

I haven’t looked at numbers but the sec is likely to become a victim of itself in bowl games. My guess is you’re going to have more sec guys sitting out than from opposing conference simply because the sec has more nfl players
UGA is gonna smack OSU. Then win the natty Bama gonna smack their opponent. All the other bowls except NY6 don’t matter anyways. Most don’t show up with a good bulk of players. The top is going to be the top.

The rest have numerous opt outs ect and are shells of themselves.

Tennessee will lose to Clemson (Fade Joe Milton)
Kentucky will lose to Iowa (Fade Kentucky's bad offense w/o it's two best players)
Mississippi State will lose to Illinois (I just think Ilini are a good team)

Not sure about our game but agree with the rest. I think Iowa will have as many issues as UK. Could be a game of Safeties. Something like 8 to 4 UK or Iowa. Lol
The SEC often finds itself playing higher "seeds" in the low and mid level bowls. Cases in point- Florida vs. Oregon St. No. 10 SEC vs. No. 5 PAC 12. Or, Missouri vs. Wake, No. 11 SEC vs. No. 9 ACC.

Utah damn near beat OSU last year. Not because they were anywhere as talented, but because they were way more excited to be there. OSU was disinterested and took a while to get going.
It is often the case that one team is way more excited to be there, especially when one of the teams is a traditional power in a lower bowl, againt a team playing up. Then you have the players opting out.
When the playoff expands, you will see even more of this is in the lesser bowls.

As a Non SEC person in this era don’t go by Bowl games … outside or the CFP they are truly Exhibition game/Made for TV filler for ESPN IMO … Coaching changes, Transfer Portal and Opt Out for the NFL Draft
Arkansas let off the gas or they'd have crushed Kansas. Our conference is better, but not so good we can stop playing with a quarter and a half still to go in regulation. Coast and you can get beat. The Hogs were fortunate it went to overtime.

Occasionally we play up 2 whole "seeds" when we get 2 teams in the playoff.
In reality, it's irrelevant because without something on the line, bowls can go any direction.
However, you can't thump the conference mantra then come up with excuses. You also can't support the years they are 9-2 in bowls as dominance then lay down with "higher seeds" commentary.
As a Penn State fan, I don't give a shít about how the conference does. I want us to beat Utah. I hope Michigan and OSU get embarrassed and the rest I'm indifferent on. Those teams winning doesn't help my team.

The bowl tie-in matchups have never been in favor of the SEC. It’s a wonder how the league has dominated bowls the last 20+ years despite it being other conference’s Super Bowls.

-I don't cheer for other SEC teams...but psu is 0-4 against mid level sec teams in bowl games over the last decade.

I’m so jealous of the Big Ten. I wish we could play Northwestern, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, Iowa, Rutgers, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc. Holy cow what a league that screams excitement every Saturday in the fall!
If y’all beat Georgia I’ll give the big 10 credit for beating the SEC top program this year but until then the big 10 is still sh!t slow football and has been forever. You guys are like the Notre Dame of football, always hyped and always beat by the SEC 🍺
I don't want any credit for it. I don't cheer for other teams in the conference. I hope UGA grubshucks the Buckeyes and craters Strouds draft potential. Then in the likely case of playing Michigan, Dawgs can beat them worse than last year.
Our program under Paterno used to be one of the best in bowls. Outside of facing the Bear, Joe dominated bowl games.
Franklin has not. I think he's 3-5 in bowls at PSU.

Amoungst the prides missing in those folks is any kind of regional pride.
I am perfectly content, and even kinda happy, if every other SEC team lose their bowl games, with the exception of anyone playing OH State or Notre Lame. Other conference teams winning does absolutely nothing for Kentucky football except make recruiting more difficult.
With that being said it doesn't bother me when other teams win unless it is Tennessee or Floriduh but I will not be cheering for other conference teams.

You cannot look at Conference Bowl records anymore, too many people opt out, enter portal etc. Not to say other Conferences will not try to use it against the SEC,but,will not matter when playoff goes to 12 teams. Better Conference and teams will be reflected with W's and L's at that time.
I live in Virginia. Just as south as any Kentucky folk. Just not a conference fan. Do you cheer for Bama to win in basketball or do you think UK ought to be there?
UKs 2nd best team ever beat Penn State's 4th best team of that decade by 3. Good game best I remember (I think I listened to it on the radio, left Atlanta traveling to Richmond that day) that UK controlled.
Virginia and North Carolina are not the South. If you don’t have an institution in the Southeastern Conference, you are a Yankee State. Not even close to UK’s second-best team ever.

You don’t just look at records. A 6-6 SEC Arkansas this year is a 10-2 (at worst) “Big” Ten team with a Penn State schedule.
