Saw this story last Friday or Saturday forgot to post a thread. They had a story ranking all the SEC teams pre season. It’s time for KY to earn their ranking. They had Bama at 1 Georgia at 2 and the Kentucky Wildcats ranked 3rd. KSR was just taking about it is what reminding me to post it.

Third might be a bit ambitious. Lost a lot of OLine to draft, a new OC, and have serious question marks relating to CB, OT, and pass rushing.

That said, we could be in for a dynamite year if we finally have an offense and defense clicking on all cylinders for the first time in my life.

Here's to third and the next step for Stoops & Co. 🍻

It's not too much of a stretch to have UK and A&M pushing the hardest against Bama and UGA, however I don't think there is a lot of daylight between us and UT in the East and A&M and Arkansas in the West.

Despite a couple of questions here and there, I think this might be the most COMPLETE Kentucky team in the Stoops era, and by that I mean experience, talent and depth at the most positions.

Might not be most complete, but without question best quarterback situation in all of Stoops tenure. best projected QB play for UK since 2007, maybe even 1998.

And we all know QB play means a heckuva lot, overcomes several deficiencies. Or, can hold a stacked roster back (hello A&M).

Media tends to only pump us up when they think we're gonna fall flat. Let's hope we prove we belong there this fall!

I'm thinking about an NFL caliber QB and a deep talented receiver room - two things we have not had in the past.

Its fair to say that KY is not in the same class as Bama or UGA and maybe even A&M given the recent talent they have recruited, but when you have a legit NFL QB prospect on your team it at least gives you a shot. The main thing that separates KY for me is Stoops has proven over a period of time he can win with talent and find ways to win when the talent is not as good. This is his most complete team, and again, he finally has a legit high level QB along with what should be his most talented and capable WR corp to date.

I am not worried about KY. I am more worried about if Drink, Beamer, Heupel and Napier have what it takes to lead an SEC program or if they end up like most since Stoops has been at KY which is fired. It takes a lot more than just talent to win in this conference.

Ultimately, it comes down to if KY Football is ready to handle success and being the hunted. I have not seen sustained and consistent signs of that yet. They cannot continue to keep losing to the likes of UT almost every season and expect to have any shot at Atlanta and/or gaining the full respect of those outside of KY.

I would argue that everytime the media has pumped us up we have shat the bed by losing to a UT or a Miss State, or some other mediocre team like MO that totally loses any credibility that CMS and UK have managed to gain by beating the Floridas, LSU, USC, etc.

I love CMS, but if he is going to elevate UK to the next level, now is the time. I think with Levis at QB, we have a real shot at doing that this year if the defensive backfield doesn't kill us again this year.

With the NCAA sticking it's head in the sand and hoping for the best it's going to end up being who is willing to or capable of buying the most talent. The State of Tn is making it legal for agents to represent HS athletes to ensure they get the best deal, well actually isn't another law to ensure lawyers have another income source. But it gives a big advantage to the instate schools. Just not near as excited or looking forward to the season as i have been all my other years, it's like watching an arena game.

The next 3-4 years will be dog eat dog in both football and basketball recruiting. It will be pay for play and only the feds can stop it. If they don’t say goodby to NCAA and hello to a new super conference consisting of 80-100 teams.

Bingo, UKs loss to UT was a game they have to win. You can’t lose at home and play for championships.

When you have a talented QB like Levis all the media begins to take notice with their positive takes. If the wide receivers are average or above 2022 could be a outstanding season, with a 10 or better win season. Don't you think we're closer to Bama & Georgia than anyone else in the East? What concerns me is UT and the Gators and their deep pockets to buy players, especially UT.

When you have a star QB that getting as much pub as Levis has the media heads begin to take notice. IMO if the wide receivers are ave

Whenever preseason rankings are made this early, there are bound to be unresolved issues that call into question their accuracy. Every team has these unresolved issues this spring. Last month, Coach Stoops said he would take a defensive back and an offensive tackle out of the portal during the spring. Since then, he has taken two transfer defensive backs, and I think that is an important need. If we get a grad transfer offensive tackle, then I think Kentucky can play with almost anyone next fall. Even if we do not get another tackle, we just need one of the large number of tackles already on our roster to step into that breach and overachieve. I am optimistic.
